What is the eligibility criteria for IES entrance exam?
Hello Sir,
I just wanted to get this one thing clear - Is the eligibility for IES examination is to pass from any engineering branch, or I need to have a degree in one of the following streams - 1.Mechanical Engg. 2.Civil Engg. 3.Electrical Engg. 4.Electronics and Communication Engg. ??? The eligibility criteria for IES Exam is as follows: Age limits : 21-30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination. (Upper age limit relax able for S.C.s/S.T.s, O.B.C.s and certain other categories). Educational Qualifications : A degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only. Candidates appearing at their engineering degree or equivalent examination are also eligible to compete. Candidates qualifying on the result of the written part of the Examination will be required to submit the proof of passing the requisite examination along with their detailed application form to be filled up at that stage. ~regards~ priyo |

IES-INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment of engineers in the Top Technical post under Central Government particularly in the following Branches:-
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CIVIL ENGINEERING ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Graduation in Engineering from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years of age. There is upper age relaxation for SC/ST/PH candidate for up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years. In order to be eligible for the Engineering Service Exam, conducted by Union Public Service Commission, candidate needs to hold a degree in any discipline of Engineering, but the examination is conducted only in the following disciplines:

The eligibility criteria for IES exam is given below:-
Educational Qualifications : Degree in : 1)Electrical Engineering 2) Electronics & Communications Engineering 3)Civil Engineering 4) Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from recognized universities. Age Limits : Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on August 1st on year of conduct of examination ( upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs,OBCs and certain others ) How to Apply : UPSC applications are available for Rs. 20/- at notified post offices all over the country. Rs. 100/- (rupees one hundred only) through central Recruitment Fee Stamp only shall be attached. There is a fee exemption for SC/ST/Female/PH candidates. Please mark exam code as ENGG and not as IES. IES means Indian Economic service. Be careful in this aspect. Last date for application : Usually in the first week of March in year of conduct of examination (offline) Applications can be made online also. For IES entrance exam you should be in age group 21-30 years on the first day of august of the year of examination. Educational Qualifications: You should be engineering graduate. However, candidates studying in last semester of engineering can also appear in entrance test but they are required to produce the proof of passing engineering degree. For some selected posts of engineering services, candidates who are holding MSc degree in wireless communications, electronics, radio physics & radio engineering. Thanks... |

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR C.I.D:- Candidate should complete graduation with any stream from recognized university Age of the candidate should be in between 21-27 year. age relaxation for ST/SC candidate 5 year Age relaxation for OBC candidate 3 year. Candidate must be citizen of India. good luck |

The minimum criteria for the IES exam is that you have to be graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% ,and your age limit shoud be between 21 -30 years ,There is age relaxation for both SC/ST-5years and for OBC its 3 years .For the present year the form will come on 30july,and last date will be Aug 29th,The exam will be held in the month of December .So I would say start preparing now itself and increase your chances of getting selected .!!!!!!! |

IES - Indian Engineering Service conducted by UPSC every year for appointment of young Engineers in the top technical post under various Department under Central Government.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream preferably in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The candidate from any stream can write IES but has to write in any branch from Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication branch. the IES exam is conducted by the upsc every year and the eligibility is that you should be having a degree in any of the following branches- 1. Mechanical engineering 2. Electrical engineering 3. Electronics and communication engineering There is no requirements of percentage, you just need to be a passed student. Your age should be in between 21-30 years of age. |
