Re: How to become an IPS officer after passing 12th standard?
You are not eligible to become an IPS Officer now. You need to complete graduation to meet the eligibility criteria. Selection to the job position of IPS officer is done through CSAT exam, mains exam and interview. Exam preparations can be started by joining graduation itself. General studies, verbal ability, GK, Indian History, etc are some of the topics covered for CSAT.

Re: How to become an IPS officer after passing 12th standard?
You can be eligible for Indian Police Service but only if you completed graduation. Right now you are not eligible. You must have minimum qualification of graduation. Apart from that there will be some physical requirements that you should also be able to meet.
Indian Police Service officers are selected through Civil Services Examination. Right now your focus should be on completing 12th standard and it should be followed by graduation. During final year of graduation or perhaps after completing graduation, you should start studying for the Civil Services Examination. There are few things that you can do right now. Like for example you can work on your English, if required. Take English coaching to improve communication skills and polish up your grammar. You should also read newspapers and follow the global news, especially the big headlines like the Egypt Crisis at the moment. Other than that you should read political maganizes. However since you are in 12th standard, put less load of yourself since you will have plenty of time preparing for the Civil Services Examination latter. IPS Eligibility 1. You should be national of India. 2. Bachelor course should be completed. 3. Marks in graduation do not matter as long as you have passed. 4. Should have crossed 21 years mark to apply for the exam. 5. Must be below 30 years for IPS. 6. Relaxation is 3 years in upper age limit for OBC. 7. While 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. 8. General candidate can apply for exam 4 times. 9. OBC is allowed to appear 7 times. 10. While there is no limit for SC and ST. Physical Requirements 1. Height of Male candidate should be at least 165 cm. 2. While the Female should be 150 cm tall. 3. There is 5 cm relaxation but only for ST. 4. Chest should be 84 cm for Male and 79 cm for Female with 5 cm expansion. 5. Vision should be 6/6. 6. Those suffering from night blindness and color blindness are not eligible. |
