As the very next step, you must complete your graduation. Those with graduation in any stream can apply for the profile of IPS Officer. UPSC conducted prelims and mains exam and interview are carried out for selection. Applications can be submitted online through the website of UPSC. Maximum age limit of the applicant is 30 years.

Dear Friend

Its very good that you have selected your career option at very initial stage and this will surely help you in achieving your dream/aim.

Right now your are in class 10 +2 ,so first of all concentrate on your 10+2 studies try to obtain good marks.

As you have mentioned that you are quite keen to become IPS officer, you will have to labour hard in studies with strong determination and courage.

Make a habit of reading newspapers ,magazines and general knowledge right from 10+2.

In order to become IPS officer ,you will have to crack the Civil services examinations conducted by the UPSC every year.

Minimum of bachelor's degree in any desired discipline is required for the Civil services examinations.

So after completing your 10+2,you will have to go for your graduation.During your final years of bachelor's degree you can apply for the exam.

Try to join any good institute for the Civil services like :

>>Chanakya IAS academy

>>Rau's Study circle.

>>Vajiram and Ravi IAS academy and lots more right from the first year of graduation.

Self study plays a vital role for getting success in these exams.Manage at least 2-3 hours for Civil services preparation initially then 5-6 hours in the third year.

The age limit is 21-30 years .Relaxation of three years to obc and five years to sc/st respectively.

You must be an Indian citizen.

Let me aware you about the examination pattern of Civil service examinations:

The first stage is Civil services aptitude test or preliminary exam

Second stage is called Main exam

The last stage is Personal interview.

The official website of UPSC is www.upsc.gov.in from where you can get previous year papers for the exam. The website for online application is www.upsconline.nic.in

If you are from general category you will only get four attempts ,if from obc then seven attempts and no limit for the SC/ST candidates.

Please concentrate on your studies god and fortune will surely help you in getting success as labour never goes in vain.

Hope the information helps you.If you have further any more query you can leave your message here.

All the best for your career.
