How to become an IPS officer? I am from Tamilnadu


hi i am g ramkumar i am from tamilnadu in chennai and my aim is to become an honest ips officer so i choose assistant commisner of police post but i dint have ideas to be it so please help me and give the elligiblities of that rank

Hi friend...........

IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

This exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission once in a year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Nationality:

the candidate should be a citizen of india.

Educational Qualifications:

The candidate must have complete the graduation from any recognized university.

There is no minimum percentage required to eligible for this exam.

Age limit:

the candidate minimum age limit is 21 years.
Maximum age limit is 30 years.

Relaxation:

OBC: 3 years

SC/ST: 5 years

Gender:

Both male and female candidates are eligible.

No. Of attempts:

General Candidates: 4 attempts

OBC: 7 attempts

SC/ST: No limit of Attempts

The candidate should be physically fit.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Civil Service Aptitude Test

Main Exam

Interview

IPS aspirants, first crack for Civil Examination

Civil Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for IAS/IPS service in yearly ones

For this Civil Examination some eligibility criteria is there, i.e.

Educational Qualification

Age Limit

Nationality

Physical Standards etc,,,,

If you satisfy these all eligibility criteria then you are eligible for Civil Examination

Eligibility Criteria for Civil Examination


Educational Qualification

>> Candidates have a bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university,

>> Final year students also eligible for this examination

>> There is no percentage required for this examination

Age Limit

>> Candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates

3 years relaxation for OBC candidates

Nationality

>> Candidates should be a citizen of India

Selection Procedure

** Preliminary Examination

** Mains Examination

** Interview Test

No.of Attempts

>> Maximum 7 attempts for general candidates

>> Maximum 4 attempts for OBC Candidates

>> There is no restriction for SC/ST candidates

To become an IPS Officer you have appear and clear the prestigious Civil Services Exam(CSE).

CSE is conducted by UPSC every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.

After clearing CSE you can get posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc based on your rank in the Final Merit list.

It is conducted in 3 stages viz.
1.Prelims/CSAT Exam
2.Mains Exam
3.Interviews

Eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams

Educational Qualification :

A Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognised University.
Final year appeared/appearing candidates can also apply.

Age Limit :
General Category-21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam
OBC-21-33yrs
SC/ST-21-35yrs


Attempts :
General Category-4 times
OBC-7 times
SC/ST-Unlimited times


Physical Requirements for IPS

Vision
6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

You should not be suffering from color or night blindness.


Height

Male - 165 cm for General/SC/OBC candidate and minimum of 160 cm ST.
Female - 150 cm OBC/SC/General candidate and 145 cm ST.

Chest

Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm Expansion 5 cm.

IPS entrance examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) once in every year. To appear in the IPS entrance examination you need the following eligibility criteria :

Dear Sir, Father Only have Malaysian Citizen. Mother and his Son Have Indian Citizen By Birth in this case the son eligible for become an IPS officer

If your an Indian and graduate from any stream then you have to clear the upsc cse examination then you became an IPS officer.
