Re: IAS exam at age 16 and currently pursuing 11th standard?
Hello friend,
To be eligible for the Civil Service Exam, you must hold a bachelors degree from a recognized university. The minimum eligible age for the exam is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category are eligible upto 35 years and OBC upto 33 years. So, you must complete your education with dedication and work hard to be eligible for the exam. There is no standard set for the percentage of marks to be eligible for the exam but candidates with good academic record and highest marks in Civil Service Exam are only considered for IAS. So, if you want to be an IAS officer, being good won't b enough, you will have to be the best. |

Re: IAS exam at age 16 and currently pursuing 11th standard?
I am happy that you are very career oriented at this age and i appreciate that, but then what you are thinking to do is too far from your reach.
To become an IAS you have to give the CSAT exam conducted by the UPSC. The minimum eligiblity for CSAR is: Age: Candidate must be minimum 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of exam. Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed graduation from a recognized university. Even final year students can apply. Now as you are just 16, and not even completed your 12th standard, so you are not eligible right now. However, you can definitely apply for the exam once you are 21 and have completed graduation. So dont be impatient and study hard now, dont worry about IAS right now as you have a long time to go. Good Luck! |

Re: IAS exam at age 16 and currently pursuing 11th standard?
Dont even think about that, because :
1. IAS is not a exam , but actually it is one of the cadre which is alloted to you if you successfully clear civil service exam conducted by UPSC. 2. Minimum age eligibility for this exam is 21 years. So, first you have to clear the graduation in any field, then you you can appy for CSE. Few important details regarding CSE: It consist of three stages: a. CSAT : Civil service aptitute test which is also screening test b. Mains : After clearing csat c. Interview: After clearing mains, must to clear So you have to wait till you attains age of 21 yrs and clears you graduation with atleast 50%. What you can do as preliminary preparation as: Read Newspaper daily Subscribe to some good magazine Improve you communication skills |
