if u have good command on eco. u have to continue with economics M.A but if u want to do something different u can go for MBA. but u must have good command on english and strong communication skills.
for an avg. student u can also go for MBA with JOB means Distance Learning program and symbiosis and PTU (panjab technical university) are right choices for MBA distance. i hope this information will work for .......BEST OF LUCK |

Re: M.A or MBA: Better choice after B.A for an average student?
I would suggest you MBA is a good option.
I don't know why you are telling that you are an average student. It is in your hands of working hard and gaining knowledge. Don't develop such type of inferiority complex. It will nullify you. Be optimistic and hope that with good efforts anything is possible. MBA people are good demand these days. They can have plenty of opportunities in variety of sectors. From now onwards put your best efforts and try to get maximum from your efforts. MBA does not require any specific background or previous knowledge. |

it depends on your interest.
if you do M.A it will give more opportunity in that field. M.B.A also have a huge scope and you can enter the management side after completing your M.B.A. |

Re: M.A or MBA: Better choice after B.A for an average student?
Hi
If presently you are pursuing your B.A, I would first of all ask you what you are interested in making out of your future. See, if you plan to go in teaching profession or some journalism or writing profession then Masters in your stream would be helpful so that you can gain a command over the subject in which you are doing your graduation. But if you wish to work and be a part of an MNC, then MBA is the course for you. So ultimately you have to decide what you actually want to do. Personally I would advice you to go for the MBA, since you said that you are an average student, SO I advice you to leave the Master's course as it would be another pain for 2 years. Instead you may sit for the entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, GRE, SNAP, JIMS, etc.. so that you can successfully enroll yourself a seat in the MBA colleges. IIM's i.e Indian Institutes of Management are the top B- Schools in our country. For any more information you may Click Here Hope this helps All the best Regards #RJ# |

Re: M.A or MBA: Better choice after B.A for an average student?
Hello Friend ,
MA in Economics is a good option as compared to MBA . There are several opportunities for Economics Post-Graduate . Economics majors are successful in a wide variety of careers. Although various roles in businesses are most common, economics majors are successful in law, medicine, government, non-profits, and international relations, as well as in academic roles. Economic Consulting Some economists with MA degrees find employment as research associates with economic consulting firms. Consultants advise firms on business strategies, prepare economic evidence for court cases, and develop analyses to influence public policy. Law and Other Professions Law school is also a common destination for recent post-graduates in economics. The careful reasoning in economics is a good fit for law and many careers in the law influence significant economic decisions for firms. Government and Not-for-profits Some students enter government service or choose jobs with non-profit entities. Governments at every level hire economists for their facility with statistics and analysis. Professors, Teachers and Researchers of Economics Some post-graduates in economics are interested in academic careers. They are drawn by the love of the study of economics and the prospect of teaching and writing about economics as a career. All The Best ! |

Re: M.A or MBA: Better choice after B.A for an average student?
After B.A., MBA is always a better choice.
B.A.-Bachelor of Arts is a general line and after which you can go for Master of Arts and may opt teaching line as your career or you can apply for Civil Service Exam to become an IAS/IPS/IFS/IRS etc. officer, the option is completely depends on you and upon your interest. If you are interested in Business Management then you should go for MBA(Master of Business Administration) and for which you have to appear for entrance exam like CAT/MAT/XAT etc. The MBA career is a good option where you can prove your ability in business management and can get handsome earning. |

Re: M.A or MBA: Better choice after B.A for an average student?
Don't justify yourself that you are an average student. Every person is having his own knowledge levels and strengths.
Even though you are an average student, I suggest you to go for MBA course rather than MA course. The reason being there are good number of job opportunities for the candidates after completion of MBA course than MA course. The career scope is limited if you do MA course but MBA course is not like that. In what ever the industry it is, MBA candidates are having the job opportunities because each and every business need right kind of managers at various levels to let the things happen in the right way. But you should inculcate high level of communication skills to grab job opportunities. The admission for MBA course will be given on the basis of performance in the Entrance Exam. Some of the top Entrance Exams that give admission for this course are CAT MAT GMAT XAT etc. Try to get admission for this course in B-Schools so that there is a scope for you to gain good amount of subject knowledge. Make most out of your course and have fruitful career. Wish you all the best. |
