I just want to know the minimum qualification and age period to write an I A S exam. ?

Educational Qualifications :


Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification

Age Relaxation -



If you are belong to SC/ST, Then you will get Maximum 5 year Age Relaxation.

Maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes.

Maximum of 5 years if the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir

And for Blind and Handicapped Candidates, Maximum 10 year age relaxation is allowed.

Minimum Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in any stream under any recognized university is the only educational criteria....

So If you have a bachelor's degree then you are eligible for IAS.

Age Limit: You should have crossed 21 years and should not have crossed 30 years of age...

If you belong to SC/ST category , then you will get 5 years of relaxation.
If you belong to OBC category, then you will get 3 years of age relaxation.
and PD candidates will get 10 years of age relaxation.

so if you fulfill all these criteria, then you should apply for IAS now....

Indian Administrative services exam is conducted by UPSC in every year. The minimum qualification for IAS exam is graduation in any stream from a recognize university and the age between 21 to 30 years. There will be change in the first stage i.e. Preliminary examination while other stages mains and interview being the same.
