after clearing personality test you need to satisfy certain physical requirements to be eligible for IPS. Height Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women. Total amount of Myopia should not exceed minus 4.00 D total amount of Hypermetropia should not exceed plus 4.00 D Presence of Squint is a disqualification. the above are to be satisfied to become ips |

this exam is conducted by UPSC every years.for appear in this exam you must have to complete your graduation in any stream from a recognized college. the age limit for this exam is 21-30. also there are 5 & 3 years of relaxation are given to SC\ST candidates. the physical standard- ->Height : for males 165 cms for general,OBC,SC categories. 160 Cms for ST Candidates For Females : 150 Cms for Gen,OBC,SC 145 Cms for ST Chest : For Males : Minimum 84 Cms after expansion it should be 89 cms For Females : Minimum 79 cms after expansion it should be 84 cms. Yes dude you are eligible to appear for the Indian Police Service exam after completing your graduation . IPS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). UPSC conducts the Civil Services Exam once in a year. The Civil Services Exam conducts exam for entry into a various prestigious posts all over the country . Indian Police Service (IPS) exam is conducted under the UPSE . Eligibility for IPS ( Police Service exam) is as follows:- You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more then 30 years of age . You must have a graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities If you are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but awaiting the results can also appear IPS You have to provide proof of degree when appearing for the Mains . |

In hindi advt of delhi police there are few terms which icould not understand. These are sfiti shira, chade ghutne aur halex velges what doesit mean? These were given in the physical eligibility criteria. Pls explain these.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted every year by UPSC after Graduation Degree.
The candidate aspiring for IPS should have good Physical Fitness and should have minimum prescribed Physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- General/OBC Male should be 165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST male should be 160cm and Female candidate-145cm. CHEST - Male should be 84cm while Female should be 79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. Sir I am a BArch student 2nd year I want to join the IPS as an officer after my graduation. I want to crack the upsc exam but currently I am taking psychotropic medicines due to suffering from acute depression for a couple of months but I will recover soon after a couple of months. Otherwise I am physically and mentally strong I am nt having any other diseases and I am really passionate about becoming an IPS.My query is can it be a reason in my future for nt getting selected in IPS. What measures can I take plz reply
