hi sir i am going to complete eng in May. So i want to join in Airforce. Please list out the procedure.

to join the air force as an pilot you have to first clear cds exam,
then after that there will be an special test on an stimulator
if you clear that test and satisfy all the physical standards you van join the Indian air force,

i had done my 12th with pcm and now i am doing engineering 2nd year in electronics. i want to work in indian air force.

For joining IAF(Indian Air Force) there are mainly two exams ; these are:-

1.Through CDSE(Combined Defense Services examination)-

Qualification required- Any graduate degree/BE/B Tech degree and having passed Physics and maths in class 12th.

Age limit- 19-23 years

Month of exam- It is conducted twice a year. In the month of April and September.

2.Through SSC(Short service commission)-

Qualification required- Any graduate degree/BE/B Tech degree with minimum 60% marks and having passed Physics and maths in class 12th.

Age limit- 19-23 years

Month of exam- It is conducted twice a year. In the month of March and September.

You could join air force through cds or ssc you have to clear out these exam after that you are allowed to be in air force.

do i have to clear both these exams ? or any one is enough?

Hi friend,

It depends on what Diploma Course are you doing.still you have to B.E/B.Tech after diploma to join IAF.you doesnt qualify for any 1 of the three Eligibility criteria for examination to get in INDIAN AIR-FORCE ACADEMY .



To join Indian Force as a pilot after graduation their are three Exams


Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS)

Educational qualification to sit in CDS Exam:
you must have a graduation degree (3 year course) with You must be non medical science student
you can can also apply if you are in final year, provided you do not have any down paper.
No Percentage Bar for CDSE entry.
you will get Permanent Commission to join the Air Force through this mode

National Cadet Corps Special Entry ( Through CO NCC Unit / DG NCC )

Educational Qualifications
you must have a graduation degree in any branch/BE / B Tech from a reputed college/university with atleast 60% aggregate have non medical science subjects in 10+2
you can can also apply if you are in final year, provided you do not have any down paper.
Upper age limit for Candidates vaving valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (india ) is 25 yeras.


Flying (Pilot) Short Service Commission (For Men & women) with Term of Engagement of 14 Years with no further extension
you should be 19 to 23 years/ 19 to 25 Years for CPL( cadet pilot license) Holders (Issued by DGCA (india) ).
other criteria are same .

I had query regarding my eligibility, I had a year drop in the first year engineering. I still satisfy the age limits of CDSE and UES, also my aggregation is 64%

Will this year drop make me not eligible for the exams?
