hi,
If you want to become I.A.S officer then you have to pass the graduation in any stream you want from the recognized university. I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year. Eligibility criteria:- >pass the graduation from recognized university. > Age limit:- For open category:-21-30year For OBC category :- 21-33year For ST/SC category:-21-37 year > Number of attempts:- For open category:- 4 For ST/SC category:-7 > Must be citizen of India. IPS stands for Indian Police Services and to become IPS Officer you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination. This examination is conducted by UPSC every year in 2 stages : Preliminary examination and Main examination.
Preliminary examination is also called Civil services aptitude test and there are 2 papers in this examination and all are conducted in same day and both are of same marks and duration, If you cracked this examination, then you are eligible to appear for Main examination. Main examination is Descriptive and there are 9 papers in Main examination and you have to choose the Optional subjects in Main examination on the basis of Graduation. So please apply for this examination Next year, if you have satisfied the given Eligiblity Criteria : >> You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline form a recognised University, Final year appearing candidates also apply. >> Your age should between 21 to 30 Years. General candidates gets 4 chances to cracked this examination, OBC Candidates gets 7 Attempts and no limits for SC/ST Candidates. The Notification will be published on 04/Feb/2012 and the last date of apply for this examination 05/March/2012 and the Preliminary examination will be held on 20/May/2012. To become a IAS officer you must appear in a exam named UPSC conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The commission has framed certain rules and regulations for the candidates to appear in the examination. From those rules we say that
i) Candidate's age must be from 21-30 years as on 1st August of examination year. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories). (ii) The candidate must have completed a bachelors degree from a recognised university (iii) Fee : Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) (No fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled only) The physical standards are important for the job profile and the rigorous training at the NPA, which includes weekly run for 10 k.m. in 60 minutes, route march for 25 k.m. UAC, Horse riding, rock climbing, assault course, PT obstacles, rope climbing etc. Height Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Eye sight 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. . Blood pressure (High) Age 23 123, age 24 124, age 25 122, age 28 124, age 30 125, age 32 126, age 34 127. Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking. |

Nationality: For IAS and IPS, only Indian nationals are eligible. For other services, subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, (who arrived in India before January 1, 1962), and persons of Indian origin, who migrated from specified countries, are eligible.
Age limit: Between 21-30 years as on August 1 of the year of exam. Relaxation of age limit is available to SC candidates and a few other specified categories Education: A degree from a recognised University Prelims: You have to clear the prelims to qualify for the mains. You got to write two papers in prelims: General Studies, and a subject chosen by the candidate from a specified list of 23 subjects. Both papers are in objective type and are of two-hours duration each. Optional subjects include Civil Engineering, Commerce, Geography, Medical Science, and Indian History. Mains: Marks in the written exams and the interview will determine your ranking. Based on your ranking and preference, you will be allotted one of the Services. Mains comprise nine papers in all. I.English (300 points) II.Any one of the languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. (300 points) III.Essay (200 points) IV & V. General Studies (300 points for each) VI-IX. Two papers each from the two optional subjects chosen by the candidate each paper 300 points. The interview carries 300 points. |

IPS stands for Indian Police Service.This exam is part of civil service exam.So to become IPS officer,you clear the civil service exam.This exam is conducted by UPSC every year once.To take qualified students into different government service posts.
Eligibility criteria for Civil Service exam: Education qualification: You should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university. Age limit: If you belong to General category,then your age should be between 21 to 30 years and you can attempt 4 times only. If you belong to OBC category,then your age should be between 21 to 33 years and you can attempt 7 times only. If you belong to SC/ST category,then your age should be between 21 to 35 years and you can attempt 14 times. Civil service exam consist of Preliminary exam and Main exam.If you clear this two exam will good rank,then you can get post as IPS officer. Preliminary Exam notification for this year: Issuing of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012. Exam will held on 20th May 2012. For IPS,you have to appear for Civil Service Exams. These exams are conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in every year. Eligibility Criteria for IPS:- **Educational qualification is Graduation in any stream from any recognized university. **Age limit is 21 to 30years. **4 times are allowed for General candidates. **There are two exams are there .They are 1.Preliminary exams 2.Mains exam 3.Interview Physical standards:- 1.Height---157.5cms 2.Chest---84cms prepare well all the best................. |

Requirement for IPS Hi satyam, IPS:-Indian Police Service. You need to appear for UPSC examination to become IPS , for this, following is the requirement:- -A candidate's age should be 21 to 30 years(Including both years) -Age relaxation of 5 years is given to SC/ST/OBC candidate. -A person should be graduate or should be in final year of such courses. -A person should know English and Hindi. -A person must be an Indian citizen If you meet this eligibility criteria , then you are definitely eligible to write UPSC exam.
