Upper age limit for NET entrance exam?
Sir/Madam
What is the higher limit for NET entrance exam. I am from commerce stream.Done M.B.E & B.ed. |

There is no upper age limit. Any candidate who is has completed Masters degree can apply. You will need to select the subject based on the specialisation in Masters course. Also you should have pursued it from a recognised institute. If you would like to appear for the June exam then you need send the filled form by 31st March.

The Age limit for NET is:-
Education eligibility:-- The eligibility criteria for NET is M.Sc or equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned above, with minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates.. and i think that you fulfill education eligibility........ NET exams are conducting twice a year, i.e., in the months of June and December by UGC. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are published in the months of March and September respectively in the weekly Employment News. so you can apply for june month NET...... |

[NET is the NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST which is conducted by UGC in june and december month of one year...
1.you must have 21 yr. minimum 2.not more than 30 yrs...... 3.you must have M.SC or M.TECH from any recognized university |

Eligibility for NET entrance examination: You Must have a M.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks And the final year Students of M.Sc. are also eligible to appear in NET exams. Age Eligibility Criteria - For Junior Research fellowship – You must be between 19 –28 years of age. For Lectureship – There is no upper age limit. You should be at least 19 years of age. You have masters degree so i think you are eligible but please check age eligiblity........ All the BEst! |

for CSIR NET examination the eligibility criterion regarding age is-
for JRF(NET)-candidate should have minimum of 19years age and maximum of 28years age as on 1st January, 2011 for general category candidate. there is relaxation of 5 years in upper limit of age for candidates belongs to SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy Layer), Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants. For LS (NET):Minimum 19 years, as on 01.01.2011. EXAM SCHEME FOR SINGLE PAPER CSIR-UGC NET Exam FROM June 2011
CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is conducted by CSIR in the following areas: - 1. Chemical Sciences 2. Earth Sciences 3. Life Sciences 4. Mathematical Sciences 5. Physical Sciences It has been decided to introduce Single Paper MCQ MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) based test from June 2011 exam. The pattern for the Single Paper MCQ test shall be as given below:- The MCQ test paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks. The exam shall be for duration of three hours. The question paper shall be divided in three parts Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Science and Research Aptitude test. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200 Part 'B' shall contain subject-related conventional MCQs. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200. The maximum number of questions to be attempted shall be in the range of 25-35. Part 'C' shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200. Negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, shall be @ 25% The new pattern shall be implemented from June, 2011 exam Model Question Papers in the new format shall be made available along with Notification for the June, 2011 exam. |

The Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test. ii) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified. iii) The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET iv) Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects in item No. 9, may appear in a related subject. v) Candidates seeking concession in fee are required to submit attested copy of their OBC(Non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PH/VH certificate along with online print out of their Application Forms (obtained while applying on-line). Other candidates are not required to submit any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility alongwith print out of their Application Form. Therefore, the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the Commission at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action. vi) Candidates with post-graduate diploma/certificate course(s), should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their course(s) with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants commission conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
The test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social sciences, Forensic science, Environmental sciences,computer science and applications, Electronic science. Age criteria: -A candidate who is not having an age of more than 28 years is eligible to appear for the exam. -There is relaxation in age for SC,ST,OBC candidates up to 5 years. -In order to apply for lectureship, there is no upper age limit. UGC conduct the NET exam for JRF and LECTURERSHIP. NET exam held twice a year, in the months of June and December. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are published in the months of March and September in Employment News and ugc website also. Eligibility:- Post graduation in any subject with 55% from any recognised university.
