The IAS or the Civil Services Exam is now receiving the applications. You have to apply online. You may see the detailed notification in the UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in/ or in the Employment News.
The age limit is as follows: Not less than 21 and not more than 30 In other words born between 02.08.1982 and 01.08.1991. There are some relaxations as follows: SC/ST candidates 5 years OBC candidates 3 years Ex Servicemen 5 years Handicapped 10 years. All the best. |

The IAS stands for Indian Adminstrative Services. This Exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
The minimum eligibility for IAS : I. Academic Eligibility The candidate must possess a degree from an Indian University or an educational institution deemed as a University or possess an equivalent qualification. Those in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination. II. Other Eligibility Conditions i. For the IAS and the IPS, the candidate must be a citizen of India. For the other services, a candidate must be either: a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit. Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. |

TO Apply for the IPS exam your Age must be lie between 21 to 33 years but if you belong to either SC/ST/OBC category then there is a relaxation of 2 years.

IAS-INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer one should have appeared and cracked the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) which is conducted every year.
The candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final graduation Degree exam or pass in any discipline from a recognised University, is eligible to appear for Civil Service exam. The age criteria for this exam is 21 to 30 years for General category candidate. IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year to recruit students for administrative jobs.. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC.
