To give IAS (indian administration service),one should have mini qualification is graduation degree in any stream.
And age should be between 21 years to 33 years for OBC caste. and OBC caste person can attempt exam only for 7times.where as for SC/ST they have unlimited attempts for IAS. if you are between 21 to 33 age go ahead,otherwise wait for time to come to apply for exam, don't upset,but prepare the topic for IAS syllabus,though you are not able to attempt this time,you will be getting one day.that day you have to prove yourself...........so prepare well. you can successes |

IAS is the Indian Administrative Service examination. the name of the examination is civil service examination. the examination is conducted by UPSC.
the age eligibility criterion for IAS examination is candidate should have the age between 21 to 30 as on 1st August, 2011 for general category candidate i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1981 and not later than 1st August, 1990.. relaxation is there for reserved candidate for upper age limit. for OBC category candidate there are three years relaxation in upper age limit. so for OBC candidate should have age between 21 to 33 as on 1st August, 2011. the minimum educational qualification is required to appear in IAS examination is graduation in any discipline. for more information about civil service examination visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in the form fill up for civil service examination is going on now. for online form fill up visit the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in the last date of form fill up is 21st March, 2011. here i am attaching the notification for the civil service examination 2011. go through the attachment for other eligibility criterion and other details about the examination. best wishes. |

The Notification was already released.See the Employment News 19 - 25 feb.
Age limits : General candidates : Age should between 21 - 30 yrs. For OBC candidates : Age should between 21 - 33 yrs. For SC/ST candidates : Age should between 21 - 35 yrs Number of attempts : 4 attempts for general candidates. 7 attempts for OBC candidates. The eligibility criteria for IAS exam for the session 2011-2012 is - 1.Age limits : 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relax-able for OBC's is 3 years). IAS exam is a standard and well known exam , which conducted by upsc that is union public service commission. The notification are made available on the official website of upsc that is www.upsc.gov.in .The qualification in terms of age for appearing in this exam is as follows :
(1)FOR GENERAL CATEGORY STUDENTS- 21 to 30 years . there is no provision of relaxation in terms of age for general category students. (2)FOR OBC CANDIDATES-There is a provision of relaxation upto 3 years for obc students. (3)SC/ST CANDIDATES-For sc/st candidates the relaxation is available upto 5 years. Upsc notifies the civil service examination 2011 in the employment news dated 19 feb- 25 feb 2011. Please check it for exam pattern, age, qualification etc. You will get all the basic and needful information in it.
As of your question I want to tell you that upsc provides 3 years age relaxation to OBC category. In addition to this OBC candidates can also avail cumulative age relaxation of 8 years if they are centeral Govt. Employes or j & k residents with domiciled certificate. You should have completed your graduation or you should be a degree holder with age between 21 to 30 years.
For candidate belonging to OBC category there is 3 years of relaxation in age. For candidate belonging to SC/ST category there is 5 years of relaxation in age. For candidate belonging to Handicaped category there is 10 years of relaxation in age. Candidate belonging to OBC category can make 7 attempts for IAS exam. IAS is one of the 24 civil services.
civil services examination is conducted by UPSC delhi every year this exam will be conducted. this examination will have some particular elgibility criteria. coming to age limit min age limit is 21 years max age limit is 30 years for any candidates the age is same but the previlage provided by UPSC to the reserved candidates is there will be no limit for the attempts wheras the general candidates can only attempt for 3 times so i think you got cleared all the best ~aditya~ |

For becoming ans IAS you have to appear for the CSAT or the Civil Service Exam. It is conducted by the UPSC and they provide relaxations for OBC candidates.
There is no relaxation for Lower Age limit. Age Limits: Minimum 21 years of Age as on 1st August of the year of examination. Upper Age limit: Upper age limit is 30 years. The age limit for appearing in civil services exam conducted for recruitment of IAS officer is that a candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
However the upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases & for OBC candidate it is relaxable upto a maximum of 3 years. UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) holds exam every year to get candidates for Public services. IAS (Indian Administrative Service) is one of those. (Upper age limit relaxation for SC/ST, OBC) For OBC upper age limit is 33yrs and for SC/ST 35yrs As far as number of attempts is concerned OBC candidates get 7 attempts,SC/ST have no limit on attempts and general candidates get 4 attempts. Here i am providing the age limits for IAs exam.
A candidate need to have an age between 21-30 years in order to appear for IAS exam. Age relaxation for some categories is as follows -relaxation upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC and ST -relaxation upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward classes (OBC) -relaxation upto a maximum of years if the candidate had been to domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during the period between January 1, 1980 and December 31,1989. So as you belong to OBC category, you have a age relaxation upto a maximum of 3 years. |
