What is the age limit for UGC net exam ?.....please tell me what is the age limit

There is no age limitation to appear for UGC-NET exam for lectureship.

If your academic qualification is ok then you can appear for UGC-NET at any age.

If you intend to use the UGC-NET score for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) then
you can apply for the exam till the age of 28 years.

The UGC-NET exams are conducted twice a year; one in June and other in December.

i)Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 28 years as on 01.06.2012. A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PH/VH categories and to women applicants. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates having research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on production of a certificate from appropriate authority. Three years’ relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.


ii)Lectureship: There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility.

As per age criteria,
There is no upper age limit at all required for the candidate for Lectuership.
-But for JRF, one should be in the age group of 19-28 years.
-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of OBC and also for SC/ST category candidates.

So, check yourself whether you possess the required age criteria to appear for this exam or not by having a glance over above mentioned age criteria.

UGC(University Grants Commission) NET(National Eligibility Test) exam is conducted by the SSC(Staff Selection Commission).

Eligibility Criteria:-

The candidate should be complete Master's degree with 55% marks from a recognised university.

5% of marks relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

The candidate should be a citizen of india.


Age limits:-

Age limits for Junior Research Fellowship(JRF) is 18 years to 28 years.

There is no maximum age limits for Lectureship.

UGC NET - UNIVERSITY GRANT COMMISSION NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST conducted by UGC two times a year one in December and other in June for selection of Lectureship and award to Junior Research Fellowship(JRF).

There is no restriction to upper age for NET entrance exam for those applying for Lecture ship.

But those applying for JRF should not be above 28 years of age.

Apart from this the candidate having secured at least 55% marks in Post Graduation is eligible to apply for UGC NET.

for getting ugc net your age under 28 or equal because government approve it for only 28 years of student...this exam is conducted 2 times in a year .first in june and other in december...so you can apply.

University Grant Commision

UGC(University Grant Commision)conduct the NET exam for jrf and lecturership two time in month of june and december.

To appear in this exam candidate should be post graduate with 55% marks from recognise university. Final year of post graduation student can apply for net exam.

Age limit for jrf is maximum 28 year. relaxation for reserve candidate in upper age.

There is no upper age limit for lecturership.

Age Limit for UGC NET Entrance Exam:

The NET stands for National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission for requiting the Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship positions..

For Junior Research Fellowship, required age limit should be Not more than 28 years and there is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship.

And here 5 years age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PH/VH categories and to women applicants.

University Grants Commission of India conducts NET to search for best brains who can upheld the standard of the education the country. This is through which UGC appoints lecturers and awards Junior Research Fellowship or JRF. One have to ensure to satisfy certain criteria prescribed by UGC to be eligible to apply for this posts.
Eligibility Criteria :-
Minimum qualification

• Masters degree with at least 55% marks for General and other backward classes(OBC).
• SC/ST/VH/PH candidates must get 50% or more in post graduation.
• Those who in final year of post graduation degree, can also apply provided they are able to produce appropriate proof of their qualification within one year of examination. Failing so will result in cancelation of candidatature.
• Applicant can have any subject from Humanities, Forensic Science, Computer Science, Electronics and Environmental science in masters degree.

Age Limit

• No bar on age limit for lecturership.
• For JRF age should not exceed 28 years.
• Reserved category candidates get 5 years of concession in the maximum age limit.
• LLM. degree holders are eligible for 3 years relaxation. But in no case upper age should not exceed 33 years.

is it aggregate marks of percentage of minimum qualifying in net jrf exam or is it must to qualify in each paper?

The National Eligibility Test is conducted for two purpose. First one is Junior Rsearch Fellowship and second purpose is college lectureship. Therefore the age criteria is different depending on what exactly are you applying for.

For example if you are applying for Junior Research Felloship, then the age limit will be 28 years. However candidates interested in applying for college lectureship do not need to worry about the age limit.

Therefore if you are interested in college lectureship, feel free to apply as long as you have post graduation degree with the marks required to appear for the National Eligibility Test.

You can appear for the test which is due to take place in June. However if you feel that the time is too short for you to prepare for the entrance exam, then the next entrance exam will take place in December.


Eligibility

1. Master degree holders are eligible for NET.

2. Master degree should be completed with minimum of 55 percent marks.

3. SC/ST candidate can appear for NET with minimum of 50 percent marks in PG.

4. Students currently in final year of master degree course are also eligible.

If you are aiming to become only a Lecturer then you don't have to worry about the age limit because there is no age limit for Lecturership.

But if you want to go for Junior Research Fellowship then you have to crack UGC NET before you complete 28 years of age.

For UGC NET you must have a Post Graduation degree with 55% marks in any discipline from a recognised University.

There is 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates means they need only 50% marks.

Examination Pattern:

Paper-I: This paper will test teaching and research aptitude of the candidate. It will test reasoning ability, comprehension and general awareness.

Paper-II: It has questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. The is of Graduate level.

Paper-III: It will have 75 questions and all are compulsory. This is of Post Graduation level of your selected subject.
