What is NET exam? What are the minimum criteria required to apply for NET exam? I am just new when it comes to the NET exam, so can someone please provide me the complete details on the same? It will be helpful if you can answer me back soon. Thanks!

NET (National Eligibility Test) is an entrance exam conducted by national educational testing bureau of university of grant commission like UGC, CBSE and CSIR. This test is conducted for becoming teacher/ professor in any government colleges/ universities. This test is conducted twice every year. The full details about the eligibility requirements are mentioned below.

Eligibility criteria:
- The candidate should have completed their masters degree in any related discipline with minimum 55% from any recognised university.
- The age limit should be between 19 - 28 years. The upper age limit varies based on the post and reservation candidates.

NET ( National Eligibility Test ) and examination is conducted by UGC for recruitment of candidates as lecturer or JRF.

The eligibility to appear in examination is :-

Candidate must have passed master degree from a recognised university.

Candidate must have scored minimum 55% in master degree.

The age limit is 19-28 years for JRF and no age limit for lecturer.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test and examination is conducted by University Grant Commission twice in a year for recruitment as Junior Research Fellowship or for recruitment as lecturer in government colleges.

The minimum required eligibility criteria to appear in examination is candidate must have passed master's degree from a recognised university with minimum 55% or equivalent aggregate under CGPA or SGPA.

There is age limit to appear in examination 19-28 years but only for JRF.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC (University Grant Commission) twice in a year mainly in month of June and December to determine eligibility for Indian nationals for JRF(Junior Research Fellowships) and Lectureship in Indian university and college.

Eligibility Conditions For NET (National Eligibility Test):-

>> Minimum qualification required to apply for NET exam is masters or equivalent qualification from government recognized institute with minimum 55% marks obtained, Relaxation of 5% marks for applicant belongs to SC/ST category, Relaxation of 3% marks for OBC candidates.

>> Age limit to apply for NET exam is 28 years, Relaxation of 5 years for candidate belongs to SC/ST category, Relaxation of 3 years for OBC category candidate.

>> Only Indian citizens are allowed to apply for NET exam.

>> There are 3 papers in NET exam all are of objective type.

NET (National eligibility exam) exam is an exam for eligibility in teaching and junior research fellowship. You have to complete masters degree or equivalent with minimum 55% marks to appear that exam. You can also appear if you are a 2nd year student of master's degree but you will be declared pass only after your master's degree marks are out.
