Can I get admission to study PhD in IGNOU if secured 50% in Post Graduation being a General candidate?


Hello,
Can I get admission in PhD course from IGNOU as I have got 50 percent marks in my Post Graduation and as I am a General candidate? Please reply to me immediately.

Sorry, you need at least 55% marks in your post graduation if you are a general category candidate. Therefore, you are not eligible for PH.D admission in IGNOU or any other recognized university in India with this percentage of marks.

You have completed post graduation degree with 50 % marks from Punjab University so you are not eligible for Ph.D course from IGNOU.

The educational qualification required for Ph.D course in IGNOU is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for Ph.D exam.

Your age should be below 28 years.
