I am studying in icse school and i have passed 10th from there. And i am confused that where i can do 10+2 in cbse board or pseb board to make a career in merchant navy?

It is up to from where you want to study class 12th because Board does not matter at all for the eligibility of Merchant Navy. However my opinion will be to opt for CBSE Board as it is one of the Best Board nowadays.

Requirements to join Merchant Navy after class 12th with Science stream:

The candidate should pass class 12th from a recognized Board in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subject.

The candidate's age must be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

The candidate must be an unmarried male.

The candidate should should be a citizen of India.

The candidate should be physically fit as per the requirements.

It is not so, actually both board are recognized.

You can prepare for Merchant Navy from any recognized board .

Only your determination is required.
Moreover both the boards are recognized hence you can prepare and focus on your studies.

If you have fulfill below given criteria then you are eligible for Merchant Navy exam. This exam doesn't depend on 12th standard board.

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy exam-

Those candidates who have passed your 12th or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from central/state board or recognized school are eligible for Merchant navy exam.

Your age should be below 20 years.

Physical criteria:-

• Eye Sight = 6/6
• Height = 167 cms
• Weight = 50 Kg
• Chest = 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

If anyone got 60% overall marks in 12th and 50% in pcm aggregate can he/she join merchant navy
