Is there any effect in marks if a candidate attended Board exam half an hour late?

Dear Sir,
My son is studying in the ICSE Board in standard 10th. For the first exams in Maths, he was late by half an hour, due to sudden auto strike and he could not complete his paper. What would be the effect of this in his final marks?
Regards
Titus Francis

There is no problem if he was late for the examination, but definitely if he has left out some questions, he will not be considered for it only on grounds that there was an auto strike.

Therefore, if he has left out certain part of the paper, he will not get adequate marks, but will surely get full marks on what he has attempted, if the solution is correct and don't worry, he won't be facing any problem during his examiation, if he was half n hour late.

Board is not responsible for the inconvenience caused to you so it will hardly affect your son's marks in mathematics exam. He will get marks according to his work they will not give any relaxation in marks.

Also he should reach half an hour before timings of examination to the exam center. So always remember this incident and try to drop him on time because nothing is more important than his board exam.

Definitely yes it would be effect in result because if you score low marks in a subject it will directly decrease the overall percentage but if your student score very well in other papers and if he does maths paper ok ok then there may be a chance that he will get good percentage otherwise you have to face the low marks in future or on the day of result declaration.

He will be evaluated on whatever he has written in the paper and the marks in the Mathematics Paper will be the according to the marks that he has obtained in that paper.
No grace marks will be given to him for this unforeseen problem.
So if the marks in Mathematics is not up to the mark and he has done well in his other papers the Mathematics paper will not be considered as one of his Papers that will be added to the best of 5.
So overall this should not affect his marks.

Your son had not attempt the whole question paper due to some circumstances. So, he will not get the marks for that question which he was left.So. it effects his final marks badly.
Also if the question attempted by your son would correct then he will get the marks according to that.
Don't worry whatever the paper he attempted he will get the marks for that.
