YES, girl candidate are eligibile to join Indian Air Force.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Air force: -

1. For Flying (Pilot) -

a. He / She must have pass graduation in any stream with at least minimum 60 % aggregate marks from a regonised institute / university.

b. He / She must have passed Mathematics and Physics in 10+2 standard.

c. Age = not be more than 22 years of age.


2. For Metrological Branch -

a. He / She must have pass Post Graduation in Science / Geography / MCA with at least minimum 50 % aggregate marks from a regonised institute / university.

b. He / She must have passed Mathematics and Physics in 10+2 standard.

c. Age = not be more than 27 years of age.

for mens and girls only difference is that girls cant apply for it after finishing class12 but they can apply for it after graduation with minimum of 55%..

but also know that for air force physics and maths is compulsary so i u didnt take that one during your class 12 then you cant join for it..

the age limit is that 21 to 29..
most important one is that you have to be physically fit..

Hey friend,

IAF is Indian Air Force which is one of the wings of Indian Defence.There are exams like NDS ,CDS,AFCAT.As far regarding the NDA and CDS Exam you cannot apply because only unmarried male candidates are only eligible for the exam.

Whereas in the case of AFCAT(Air Force Common Admission Test) both men and women can apply for the exam.The courses offered are:

Flying Branch
Technical Branch
Ground Duty Branches

Important Dates:

Last date for receipt of application - 22.02.2011
Date of AFCAT exam - 27.03.2011

No girls are not eligible to apply for the Indian Air force as an officer after the 10+2. You can apply for the Indian Air force as an officer after the graduation.
You can apply for the Indian Air force after the graduation through Combined defence service examination and Air force common admission test examination.


Only male candidates are eligible to apply for the Indian Air force after the 10+2 through National Defence academy examination. This examination is conducted by the UPSC.
This entry scheme is only for the male candidates so you are not eligible to apply for the Indian Air force.

Girls are not eligible to apply for Indian Air Force through NDA after 12th as it is only meant for male candidate only.

But girls are eligible to apply for Indian Air Force through AFCAT after Graduation

AFCAT - AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST conducted by Indian Air Force for entry in to:-

FLYING BRANCH
TECHNICAL BRANCH
GROUND DUTY BRANCH

The candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having completed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 60% marks within the age of 19 to 23 years is eligible to apply for Flying Branch and within the age of 18 to 28 years is eligible to apply for Technical Branch and within the age of 20 to 23 years is eligible to apply for Ground Duty Branch of AFCAT.

The selection is through written exam followed by SSB Interview and Medical Test.

Sorry to say this you are not eligible to join indian airforce after 12th because only unmarried male candidates are eligible, girls are not eligible for indian airforce.

Eligibility criteria for indian airforce after 12th:

The candidate should be complete 12th standard from a recognised state board of india.

Age limits is 16.5years to 19years.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

Candidate should be a citizen of india.

Candidate must be physically fit.
