Re: How can a 12th standard girl appear for NDA? Is there any relaxation for her?
Being a girl you are not eligible for joining ( National Defense Academy ) as for the same only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
But if you are interested in the defense services then you can look for Combined Defense Services ( CDS ) for which you will have to be a graduate from a recognized university. CDS has four wings which are Naval Academy (NA) , Indian Air force Academy (IAF), Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Officer's Training Academy (OTA). Also for joining CDS, you need to clear CDS examination held by Union Public Service Commission twice every year and for which you are have the qualifications given below :- * You must have the nationality of India. * Your age must be not below 19 years and must not exceed 22 years for NA, 23 years for IAF, 24 years for IMA & 25 years for OTA. * You must be a bachelor degree holder with any discipline from a recognized university. But for NA & IMA you need to have your bachelor degree with either of Physics/Mathematics/engineering courses. * You must be physically and mentally fit as per the service norms. There is no provision of relaxation or reservation on the basis of sex or caste for the selection in CDS. For more details regarding the same examination you can log on to the official link of UPSC i.e; www.upsc.gov.in. |

Re: How can a 12th standard girl appear for NDA? Is there any relaxation for her?
It is impossible for a Girl Candidate to join National Defense Academy and Naval Academy. Yes, Female or Women Candidates are not at all eligible to appear in NDA and NA Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for National Defense Academy Examination. There is no relaxation for girl candidates to appear in NDA Examination. If you wish to join Indian Army, Navy or Indian Air Force then I suggest you to write Combined Defense Services (CDS) Examination conducted by UPSC ever year. The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for CDS Exam is "Graduate Degree" or Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria: >> Only Unmarried male candidates eligible for NDA and NA Examination. >> Female or Women candidates are NOT eligible to apply for NDA Examination and even there is no relaxation for girl candidates. |

Re: How can a 12th standard girl appear for NDA? Is there any relaxation for her?
NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. The entrance exam for this academy is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The entrance exam is conducted twice every year by UPSC.
Eligibility criteria for the NDA/NA exam: >>10+2 passed or appearing candidates from any recognized board can apply for the exam. >>The age limit for candidates of any category is 16.5-19.5 years. No upper age relaxation to candidates of any category. >>Only unmarried male candidates can apply for the exam. From the third eligibility criteria, you can see that only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for the exam, so no female candidates can apply for this exam. So there is no relaxation available for a girl in NDA/NA exam. If a girl candidate is interested to join defense, she can apply for the Combined Defense Services at the bachelor's degree level. |
