NET Konkani (Paper III) Papers
The University grants commission of India is the apex body of the country that is responsible for selecting the teachers for various government posts across the country. The exam it conducts for it is known as the National Eligibility Test. As a teacher the responsibilities are huge. They are responsible for the next generation of the manpower in any field. So the test is no joke. It ensures that the right candidates are chosen and no mistakes whatsoever are made. Although in the recent years the demand for teachers across the country has increased significantly. As a result more and more candidates are taking up the exam and the competition has become fiercer.
Importance of the paper
India is home to over 2600 languages that are spoken across the country. However the constitution recognizes 18 of these officially. Konkani is one of the official languages of the country. It is indigenous to the state of Karnataka. It is the mother tongue of a considerable size of the population of India. Thus the candidates taking up the exam are expected to have a thorough knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary of it.
Format
The whole paper is of 200 marks and the marks allotted for each question are indicated in the brackets against them.
Paper pattern
The paper consists of four sections and the candidates are expected to answer them according to the detailed instructions given therein.
Marking
The first section comprises of a poem on which five subsequent questions are based. It carries a total of twenty five marks, with each of the sub-question carrying five marks. The next section carries fifteen questions of five marks each. The third section comprises of five questions of twelve marks each and the candidate is expected to choose any of the one elective. The last section comprises of an essay of 100 words of 40 marks. There are choices provided and the candidate can choose to write on any one of the topics. There are no negative marks awarded. The candidate is expected to write the answers to the point in a simplified manner to score the most.
Time allotted
A total of two and half hours are allotted to complete the paper which is about adequate.
