Selection and Application Procedure for Recruitment in Indian Navy
Recruitment to various posts in Indian Navy is carried out on the basis of interviews conducted by Service Selection Board. Eligible candidates are required to apply online from the official website of Indian Navy. Below mentioned are the details about selection procedure as well as application procedure.
Selection Process in Indian Navy
Recruitment to various job positions in Indian Navy is carried out on the basis of interviews conducted by Service Selection Board. Candidates will be short listed by the selection board on the basis of the marks obtained in qualifying examination. Short listed candidates will be called for interview which is scheduled in Bangalore, Bhopal and Coimbatore during the months of February and March 2013.
There will be two stages in the Service Selection Board Interview. Stage will contain several tests such as Intelligence Test, Picture Perception as well as Discussion Test. Those who have qualified the Stage I tests will be short listed for the further tests. Stage II test will contain Psychological Testing, Group Testing and several rounds of interviews. Stage II test will last for four days. Those who have cleared all rounds in stage II test will be short listed. They will be sent to medical examination. Medical examination will evaluate the physical fitness of the successful candidates and this last for 2 to 3 days. Those who are declared medically fit by Service Selection Board will be appointed for training. The appointment will be based on the marks obtained in all India merit against the number of vacancies.
Those who have got selection will be recruited as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant. They will have to study Naval Orientation Course conducted by the Indian Naval Academy. Candidates will be under probation for a period of two years from the date of reporting.
Application Procedure
Candidates who wish to join Indian navy are required to apply online form the official website of the organization. They are advised to read the instructions provided in the website before filling up the online application form. Personal details should be filled up as mentioned in the matriculation certificate. Those who have successfully submitted the online application form will receive a system generated application form having a unique application number. If no such application form is generated, then it is an indication of non acceptance by the system. In such case, candidates can apply again.
Those who received the system generated application form are required to take two print outs copies of the completed application form. They are required to send one copy along with supporting documents such as self attested photographs, copies of SSLC and Higher Secondary mark sheets to “Post Box No. 04, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi - 110 021” within stipulated time. Applications should be sent only through normal post.
