Army Soldier General Duty (NER) Exam 2012
Indian Army conducts an examination for recruiting candidates for various departments within the Army. The examination is named as Army Soldier General Duty (NER) examination. The examination is conducted four times in every year. Applicants who perform well in the admittance test and clear it with top marks shall be short listed. Following this, they will need to attend a training section. In general, it is those who wish to serve their motherland that join the Army. With further training in this field, they will get the necessary skills to achieve their goals.
Structure of Exam
Objective type questions are mainly asked in this examination. The medium of instructions will be in English and in Hindi. The time allotted for finishing the examination is 45 minutes. The total marks for this examination is 100. Three sections are there in the question paper. Candidates have to score minimum marks for each section independently. Aspirants who pass in this examination need to appear for an interview. The selection process is fully based on the merit.
Syllabus of the Army Soldier General Duty (NER) Exam
The written examination includes two parts- First paper and the Second paper.
First Paper includes:
- General Knowledge
- Mathematical Aptitude
- General Intelligence
Second Paper includes:
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Biology
The total marks for Physics and Chemistry is 50 and that of Biology is 50.
Besides this written test, a Physical test is there. The total marks for the physical test is 100 marks. The physical test includes the following test:
- Pull Ups
- 1 MileRun
- 9 Feet Ditch
- Balance
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have finished plus two with English, Mathematics and Science are eligible to write the exam. The minimum age limit is 16 years. The maximum allowed age for a candidate to appear for this exam is 21 years.
Medical Standards
The Indian Army will select only those candidates who possess good physical health. There will be a separate medical examination and physical fitness test. A good physical fitness is mandatory for those who are writing this examination. A proper mental stability is also required for appearing this exam.
Physical standards
The physical standard requirement of the Indian Army for male candidates is pre defined in the prospectus. The height of the candidates should be above 167 cm and the weight should be in proportion to the height. The chest measurement of the candidates should be 77/82 centimeters.
How to apply for Army Soldier General Duty (NER) Exam?
The application form will be available from the regional recruitment offices and Collector’s offices. The form is also available in the Employment Exchanges. The instructions for filling the application form will be there in the form itself. It is necessary for aspirants to fill the admission form in the format that is prescribed in the brochure. This is then to be sent to the address specified with haste.
How to fill the Form
Detailed instructions are there in the prospectus for those who are applying for this exam. Candidates should read all the detailed instructions before filling the application forms. Candidates should write only genuine information in the application form about themselves. This information validity is very important and will affect in the selection process of the candidates into the Indian Army.
Details about the eligibility, age and the marital status, percentage scored etc has to be prompt. A passport size photograph should also be provided with the application form. There will be a specific area provided for fixing the photographs. Candidates should sign across the photograph if it is mentioned in the instruction manual.
