hey friends there is no limit for number of attempts for IES...only age limit is there...othervise when you apply for IES they would have asked to fill which attempt is that....but they wont...so there is no limit in number of attempts.

instrumentation engineering and chemical engineering is elgible for IES

Civil Service Examination - General-4, OBC-7, SC/ST- No restriction
IFS Examination- General-4, OBC-7, SC/ST-No restriction
There is no restriction on number of attempts in any other Examination conducted by the Commission.
"This implies no restriction in number of attempts only the age limit is applicable(30 in case of General applicants)

i thing there is no limit for Attempting IES..!! Only IAS has the limits for attending..!!

Is gate very difficult to crack who dnt have deep technical knowledge???

what is the mistake done by general category students.

general category students are allowed 4 attempts.

obc category students can attempt ies exam for 7 times
and there is no restriction on the attempt for the sc/st category student

graduation is the minimum requirement for appear in the IES EXAM.

i think for general age limitation is 21-30yrs............

after this age you can't give this exam........

You must need a graduate degree in engineering from a recognized university.

The Engineering degree in Civil,Mechanical,Electrical,Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The candidate age should between 21 years to 30 years.

The exam is conducted for recruiting the enginners under the following core fields.

there are 4 attempts permitted in the general category.....for ies exam .....

for gate exam...there is no limit to which you can attempt GATE exam, you can attempt it as many times as you like.....however, the from now on, GATE results will be valid for only 1 year.

both are completely different exams,you need to prepare foe general ability exam also for ies along with regular civil engineering exam.
Being a general candidate your age must lie in between 21 - 27 years, then only you would be allowed to sit in the entrance paper, otherwise your application will be discarded.

Indian Engineering Service is one of the toughest exam to qualify.
There are several rules regarding the exam.

The allowed attempts for I.E.S. for different category of students are mentioned below:-

1. For General Candidate- a maximum of 4 attempts i.e. up to 33 years.
2. For OBC Candidate- a maximum of 7 attempts i.e. up to 36 years.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service conducted by UPSC every year for appointment of Engineers the top technical post under Central Govt. Various Dept.
