Yes girls can apply for the Combined Defence service examination after the completion of their graduation. Combined defence service examination is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. This exam is conducted for the selection of candidates as an officer in Indian Army, Air force and Navy.

To apply for the combined defence service examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

Education Qualification
For the combined defence service examination candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. For the Indian Air force and Navy candidate should have physics and Maths at 10+2.
Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for this examination.

Age Limit

Indian Military Academy 19-23 Years

Air Force Academy 19-23 Years

Naval Academy 19-22 Years

Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 Years

Hello friend,
As we know that the combined defense service exam is conducted for recruitment of candidates in Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy, a women candidate can only apply for the Officers Training Academy.
So, being a girl candidate and having done your graduation, you can apply only for the Officers Training Academy.
The minimum eligible age is 19 years.
The maximum age limit is 25 years.

The candidates must be a citizen of India.

For Indian Military academy:

Only male unmarried candidates with 19-24 years of age are eligible.

For Naval academy:

Only male unmarried candidates with 19-22 years of age are eligible.

For Air force academy:

Only male unmarried candidates with 19-23 years of age are eligible.

For Officer's training academy:

Unmarried or married male candidates with 19-25 years of age are eligible.

A degree from a recognized university is needed.

For Indian Naval Academy:

A degree in the field of engineering is needed.

For Air force academy:

A degree from a recognized university with physics and maths at 10 and 12 level or a B.E degree is needed.

yes girl can apply fro CDS entrance exam.
1.for that u have to complete ur graduation with more than 60% with any steam
2.fill the form fro cds entrance exam and u should be less than 30 year from 21 year
if u think that u can give it without any training than its gud but if u take a training for that they will also tell u how to
clear cds and with that they will tell u how to clear SSB also which is more hard than cds written exam

the eligibility criteria for the CDS Exam is given below

>>For Air Force Academy: Degree of a Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

>> For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

>>For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

The eigibility criteria is mentioned below:-


cds educational qualifications :


1. For i.m.a. And officers’ training academy-degree of a recognised university or equivalent.

2. For indian naval academy : Degree in engineering.


3. For air force academy : Degree of recognized university (with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level) or bachelor of engineering.


Graduates with first choice as army / navy / air force are to submit proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the ssb interview at the ssb.


Candidates who are studying in the final year degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination to reach the army hq/rtg.



The competitive examination comprises: -


i) written examination


ii) interview for intelligence and personality test



1. The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject will be as follows:



(a) for admission to indian military academy, indian naval academy and air force academy

2. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (test booklets) of general knowledge and elementary mathematics will be set bilingually in hindi as well as english.


3. In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of weights and measures only will be set.


4. Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.


5. The commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
