Is it possible for a commerce student to appear for NDA entrance test? Can you tell me about the eligibility criteria?

Sorry , you are not eligibile for NDA.
Age limit:Only male unmarried is candidates born between 02-07-1993 and 01- 01-1996 are eligibile. Educational qualification:- For Army, candidates pass with 12th in 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by State Education Board or a university. For Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy, candidates pass with 12th in pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by State Education Board or university with physics and mathematics subjects. |

Hello friend,
National Defense Academy (NDA) Exam is conducted by UPSC. To take the test, you must fulfill the following eligibility criteria- For NDA, you must have passed the +2 level of examination from a recognized board. For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA, you must have passed +2 level of examination with Physics and Mathematics. The minimum eligible age for the exam is 16 1/2 years. The maximum age limit is 19 years. For further information, you may refer to the official website of UPSC. |

Yes,you appear for NDA exam,but you are eligible only for Army category post,you will not get job in Air force or Navy category.
Eligibility criteria for NDA exam: Candidate should have completed 12th standard with PCM stream for Airforce or Navy post,were as for Army any stream in 12th standard. Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years. See this attachment for more information of NDA exam. |

NDA stands for National Defence Academy conducted twice in a year by UPSC. It consists of 3 wings namely 1. Indian Army 2. Indian Air Force 3. Indian Navy ¤ According to your question : Yes, you can apply for NDA being a commerce candidate BUT you can apply only for Indian Army wing. ¤ The eligibility criteria for NDA is given below : 1. The candidate must be an Indian. 2. The candidate must be a male. 3. The candidate must be martially unmarried or single. 4. The candidate must have passed the 12th class examination or any equivalent examination. 5. The age limit is 16.5 to 19 years. Hope for your good future scope. No friend,Girls cannot join NDA as the eligibility to join NDA is as follows:
NDA exam is conducted twice in a year.The eligibility is as follows: 1. Indian Citizen 2. Age between 16-19 3. Unmarried status 4. Physically fit 5. Male candidates are eligible 6. completed 12 th So only the males are eligible . |

Yes, you are eligible to appear for NDA being a Commerce Student.
NDA stands for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY, THE ENTRANCE EXAM OF WHICH IS CONDUCTED BY UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA. The candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12trh exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical Fitness. The candidate having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th is eligible to apply for all the three wings of NDA but without having above subjects one can only be eligible for Indian Army of NDA. Hence being a Commerce student you are eligible to apply for Indian Army of NDA. There are certain prescribed Physical Fitness test to be undergone for the eligible candidate. Yes commerce students are eligible to appear in the NDA examination but they can only join INDIAN ARMY because they don't have Physics and Mathematics subjects in 11th and 12th class. They have to study Mathematics of 11th and 12th class level to crack the NDA exam. There is also some Eligibility criteria to appear in the exams of NDA. 1)You should be a citizen of INDIA. 2)You should have done your 12th class from a recognized board. 3)A student appearing for the 12th class exams is also eligible to appear for the exams. 4)Your age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years. 5)You should be physically fit. 6)You must be a male and unmarried candidate. 7)If you wanted to join INDIAN NAVY or INDIA AIR FORCE then you can only apply for it if you have taken PHYSICS and MATHEMATICS as subjects in 11th and 12th class. Yes you can appear for NDA examination but you will be only considered for Indian Army.
Those who want to join Indian Air Force or Navy will have to complete 10+2 with Physics and Maths. NDA examination is conducted by UPSC for all the three branches of defense and the qualification required for Indian Army is any stream 10+2 candidates. So don't worry and start preparing for NDA examination because the competition will be tough for Indian Army as any stream students are eligible for it. Age Limit: Should be between 16.5 to 19 years and must be an Indian unmarried male.
