i m currently in 2nd year of mechanical engineering a degree course.i m in search of the entrance exams which i will have to appear for post graduate education.I will like to continue my education by M.tech or any postgraduate course.I would like to do work in research field.
I just know that CAT,GATE,GRE are different exams,,but dont know the difference between them.can you please help me out.,how they are diff from each other??

As you already studying the engg. There are various ways of applying for PG in engg track.
You can get admissions to government colleges for that you need to appear and score well in GATE exam.
CAT is for MBA. and GRE is for getting admissions in foreign universities for PG.

You can start preparing for GATE as all syallbus is of your gradution level . This is right time for prepation and its good that you are aware about your future.

CAT-for doing post graduation course in management while
GATE & GRE are for doing the post graduation course in the science stream.
GATE score is valid in INDIA for admission into the IITs only whereas the GATE score is valid all over the world such as for MIT, Stanford etc. For preparation of your PG program you better start preparation from the II year beacause there is a saying in english that the "Early bird catches the worm first". So start preparing!!!

GATE(Graduate aptitude test in engineering) is an entrance exam for M.tech
conducted all over india.GRE is for entry in MS in abroad.CAT is for admission
into MBA in iim's and B-Schools
