Yes, you can certainly join the Indian Air Force as an officer. With your BTech
degree, you will be eligible for the Flying Branch. There are three modes of entry for engineers. You will need to (i) Take the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) for a Permanent Commission with the IAF OR (ii) Seek entry through the National Cadet Corps Special Entry (Through CO NCC Unit/DG NCC ); this again is for a Permanent Commission OR (iii)enter as Flying (Pilot) for Short Service Commission (both men & women) with Term of Engagement of 14 Years. Re: Joining IAF as Flying Officer, Squadron Leader for B.Tech (IT)
First of all no need to give example, because anyone who joins IAF or any Defence service as an Ofiicer will start from vey begining post that is Flying Officer (IAF), Lieutinent (INA), Sub-Lieutinent (INS).
However, there is not much oppurtunity for IT Engineers. So basically you have following oppurtunities available:- UES (Both SCC & Permanent Commission are included): university entry scheme,is meant for all male and female candidates those who have attend there first university degree, that is (Bachelor degree) or B.tech. Notification for it are released In Employment news, generally in April-May-September. So, start reading it from now it will be very helpful. CDS: combined defense service,an entrance conducted by upsc (http://upsc.gov.in)twice every year, for entry into IAF.INS and IN.Minimum eligibility criteria for it is the candidate must have passed bachelor degree from any stream (But have studied Msths & Physics at +2),however age limit for it also is 23 years. It is held twice a year. Notification generally in the month of April-September in Employment NEWS. So, start reading it from now it will be very helpful. NCC Special Entry Echeme: This scheme is meant for all those who have acquired NCC "C" certificate after two years in it at senior level.Qualification must be anything Bachelor in any field or Engineering. This entry scheme occurs when required, therefore keep reading Employment news always. So, start reading it from now it will be very helpful. Regards ~Faiyaz~ |
