IPS - Indian Police Service

This is one of the Indian Civil service post and for joining in this post you need to write the IPS exam which is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and is held every year for joining in for the post of IPS Officer.

As asked what are the qualifications which you need to have got to join in as a IPS officer post you need to satisfy the following in order to apply for the exam and pass and join in the post.

Qualification Needed:

Nationality:

~ The candidate appearing for the exam must be a citizen of India


Age Limit:

~ The age limit needed for the exam for General Category candidates is that you need to have 21-30 years of age.

~ The candidate of SC/ST should have 21-35 years

~ For OBC candidates it is 21-33 years

~ The candidate who is a Ex-service men will get a exception of 5 years from the prescribed limits


Education Qualification:

~ The candidate appearing for the exam must have completed a degree and it can be in any disicpline but should have got a fair percentage.

~ Even Final degree exam is eligible for appearing for the exam


Physical Standard:
