Indian Navy offers a lot of lucrative and prestigious career opportunities to aspirants. The recruitment process to the various positions of Navy is done through certain Entrance exams. The written test for the selection of candidates in Navy is carried out by UPSC. Those who pass the written test will be called for an interview. The interview may include areas of HR as well as other questions based on the qualifying exam. The interview is carried out by Service Selection Board (SSB). It is also mandatory to obtain the necessary qualifications from any of the recognized educational institution of the country.

Union Public Service Commission carries out these entrance exams for the selection of various posts such as

- General Service Officer
- Hydrographic Officer
- Law Officer
- Logistics Officer
- Naval Armament Inspection Officer
- Observer Officer
- Pilot Officer
- Provost Officer
- Submarine Officer
Those with engineering degree can apply to similar positions in the technical department of Navy. Short Service Commission carries out the recruitment to various posts in the engineering section. In addition to the above-mentioned post, Indian Navy offers vacancies such as Education Officers, Submarine Electrical Officer, Naval Construction Officer, Medical Officer, and so on. The women candidates are also eligible to enter Navy through the selection procedure of Short Service Commission.
Eligibility for attending Naval Entrance Exams
The educational degrees required for different post under Navy is different from each other. The minimum qualification required to join naval force is +2. Indian navy offers job opportunity to aspirants with technical as well as non-technical qualification. The applications are invited from Indian citizens two times a year. The examination is carried out at the selected centers over the country as mentioned in the notification. Those who pass the final interview have to undergo a medical test. These tests are carried out to find whether the candidate is physically fit for the post.
Exam pattern of Naval Entrance Exams
The exam pattern of Naval Entrance Exams may vary with designation. The written test for INA SSR Test usually includes questions from topics of general awareness, English, Mathematics, and Science. The candidate has to pass the physical test before attending these entrance exams.
