The Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination which was established in the year 1982, evaluates its students by conducting two board examination, one in class 10 and the other in class 12. The Board that conducts class 12 examinations in Government as well as in private schools at the state level is Tamil Nadu Board of Higher Secondary Education which comes under the Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination. Business Maths is a significant branch of Mathematics as it provides an effective approach to solve business problems such as interest calculation, salary and tax calculation, Public provident fund calculation, Foreign exchange calculation etc and henceforth it is considered a major subject in commerce at graduation and post-graduation level.

Sectional Division

There are three sections in this paper-A,B and C and all the question in each of the sections are aligned serially.

Pattern of the Question Paper

The paper carries three main sections. The first section consist of forty multiple choice questions and the candidate is required to answer all of them. Each question has four options out of which one correct option is to be selected. The second section consists of fifteen questions out of which any ten questions are supposed to be answered. And the third section also contains fifteen questions out of which any ten questions are required to be answered. This section is the lengthiest one and its questions may contain sub-parts whose marks are different in each of the questions.

Marks Allocation

The total marks in this paper are two hundred. The first section is of forty marks and consist of forty multiple choice questions. The second section is of sixty marks, each question consisting of six marks each i,e. a total of ten questions should be attempted out of fifteen. Section C is of hundred marks and one is required to answer ten questions, each carrying ten marks each. Thus summing up to a total of two hundred marks.

Time Duration

The time allocated for this paper is three hours.
