Educational qualification:

• A graduation preferably in Science stream of education
• Candidates must have completed their Station Officer’s course from the National Fire Service College in Nagpur or Grade-I fire E or equivalent course or
• Candidates with divisional officer course certificate from the National Fire Service College in Nagpur or
• Candidates with graduation from Institute of Fire Engineers or
• Candidates must have completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Fire Engineering branch
Experience:
Government organizations require that candidates must have a minimum of three years experience of fire fighting in Defence or Civil Fire service organizations.
Age requirement:
To apply for the position of Station Officer in Government jobs in India, candidates must be between the age group of 18 and 40 years of age. In addition to this, candidates should also possess certain physical fitness requirement to apply for the position of Station Officer and the details about the same is given below:
Physical Fitness requirement:
Men candidates alone are appointed for the position of Station Officer and they should have a minimum height of 165 cms and minimum weight of 50 kgs. In addition, candidates should possess chest size of 81 cm and when expanded it should be 86.5 cms. The height relaxation of 5 cms is offered to candidates from hilly areas. Candidates will also be required to submit medical certificate from Medical Board of Government of India to ensure that they are not suffering from any contagious diseases and they are not handicapped in any respect.
Since station officer position is just like the job of police personnel, candidates are expected to have physical fitness and they will have to perform certain risky jobs in their day-to-day job responsibilities like dealing with fire.
