are there any restrictions of physical growth of the candidate to write the exam....? my height is 5 feets. am i eligible?

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service.

IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC once in every year.


Eligibility criteria:-

Candidate should have to complete bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

Final year candidates can also be eligible.

Percentage is not required to apply this exam.

The candidate must be a citizen of india.

Age criteria:-


For General category candidates 21 years to 30years,

For OBC category candidates 21years to 33years,

For SC/ST candidates 21years to 35years.


No.of attempts:-

4 times for General,

7 times for OBC,

No limit for SC/ST candidates.


Selection process:-

Civil services preliminary exam,

Civil services main exam,

Personal interview.

The Basic Age eligibility for IAS is

21 to 30 years

but, age relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC candidates as under

21 to 30 years for General Candidates

21 to 33 years for OBC Canidates (3 years relaxation)

21 to 35 years for SC/ST Candidates (5 years relaxation)

The age criteria for IAS is as follows for different categories:
General category:
candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

SC/ST:
up to a maximum of 5 years.

OBC:
up to a maximum of 3 years.
