yes merchant Navy iis a very good path...you can do it in Paradip Port trust...it has very good scope for merchant navy !!

yes u can become merchant navy after doing 12th.you should write NDA written test if u qalify u can selected.

There are two possible ways through which you can join Merchant Navy.

1. By pursuing bachelor's degree programme in nautical science or marine engineering.

The minimum qualification to pursue these coures are +2 with PCM from a recognised institute.

Institutes offering these courses are

The Training Ship chanakya, Mumbai
Marine Engineering Research institute, Kolkata/Mumbai
Directorate General of shipping, Mumbai
The Institute of Technology and Marine Engineering, West Bengal


2. Through direct entry as a deck cadet or Engine Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer.

An undergraduate with PCM in +2 can join merchant navy as Deck Cadet.

A graduate in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology Engineering can join as Engine cadet/Junior Engineer after going through a pre-sea course conducted by the MERI.

Merchant navy is an emerging field. You can do BSc.Nautical science or B.E.marine Engineering. Some of the Colleges offering this course include: The Training Ship Chanakya (T S Chanakya), Navi Mumbai, Marine Engineering Research Institute, Kolkata, Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Mumbai, Directorate General of Shipping, Jahaj Bhavan, Ballard Estate, and Mumbai. The candidates should pass 10+2 with at least 60% marks from a recognized university. There would be an entrance test which will be followed by an interview and physical test.

what is the requirment of physical and medical test for merchant navy.

If you are doing with PCM then you can join as a cadet after non-professional course

And if you want to join as a engineer then you must be B.Tech

If you are medical student then you can join as a Sea driver

after 10+2 u have to contact any merchant navy office which provides training
then u have to pass a written exam after which u will be interviewed.....then there will a medical checkup....
then there will be a course for 6 months off- board training and then a 6 months on- board training.......

you can join merchant navy after +2 as deck cadet. You can also join merchant navy as engineer after graduation in marine engineerin. So join merchant navy as per your interest.

Yes, you are eligible to become Merchant navy after doing 12th

You have to apply for JEE(Joint Entrance Exam) the exam is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission).

* Candidates should complete 12th standard from a recognized institute
* Candidates should study physics,maths and chemistry at 12th
* Candidates should get 60% at 12th.
* Candidates should have the age limit within 19 to 23 years of age.
* Unmarried male candidates only can appear for this exam.
* You should be physically fit.
