Both the exams are equally tough its depend on you in which field you have more knowledge and interest because both the exams have diffrent fields & criteria

it can not be said that which one is tough or which one is easy.
want you want to do matters.
if you are interested in doing CAT then go for it otherwise choose GATE.
it depends on your interest.

As we all know without practice nothing is easy but in my opinion CAT is tougher than GATE.
Through CAT you can get IIM and through gate you can get IIT's and NIT's.

by writting gate exam we can join iim to mba

According to my suggestion GATE exam is quiet easier than CAT.If you feel very comfortable in your technical paper then you can easily crack GATE otherwise you can crack CAT.
its only depend upon you.

jobs opportunities after m.tech are more or after b.tech? if i get job after b.tech and also good gate score then what should i do job or extend my degree towards m.tech.

I feel CAT is more tough to crack as compared to GATE because there is n predefined syllabus for CAT exam.
only past trends suggest that CAT tests in general aptitude including Verbal Ability (English), Quant Ability (Mathematics), Logical Resoning (LR) and Data Interpretation (DI) skills.
whereas GATE there is syllabus defined for each domain and you can crack this exam by hard work and clear concepts.

I feel CAT exam is more tough than GATE exam.
As CAT exam consists of lot of aptitude questions , you need to practice alot and incrfease your speed to solve the same.

Both the exams are completely different as far as your carrier is concerned.
GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test which deals entirely with the technical knowledge.
Generally Science Graduate/Engineering Graduates are able to appear in this exam to take admission for M.Sc/M.Tech in the IIT's or other reputed institutes across the country.
Whereas Common Admission Test(CAT) consists of your general ability and numerical analysis skills.
All Graduates are able to appear in the exam to take admission in the IIMs and other top level B-Schools in India.
Both the exams are quite tough.

The CAT (Common Aptitude Test) is one of the world's Toughest Exams. It is because, it tests the critical skills of the candidate in every question it offers. It consists of the basic maths ans high level english vocabulary. So it covers distinct corners of your academics till date.

Whereas in GATE, even if you are not from a very good college, but you have worked hard on your basic of Bachelors degree, your concepts are at your tips, and you have got hold on the subject, then you can do well in this exam and qualify for Masters in IITs.

So, CAT is an exam for a higher degree so its got to be tougher. and comparatively GATE is simpler, but I don't mean its GATE is a cakewalk.

GATE exam is one of those tough exams in our country where competition is very high.
There is no short cut to success when you are giving a exam like GATE.
You should have a comprehensive knowledge of the subject that you studied during
four years of your engineering course. Also pay attention to solve ealier years
GATE papers.You should practice more and more in order to get a thorough understanding
of the paper pattern.Try to get some study material of some good coaching institute.
It will be helpful to understand the concepts of the subject.

See both exams are different. After passing the both exams you can get master degree from both. After passing the CAT exam you get chance for MBA and after GATE you will get chance in M.Tech. Format of these two exams are different.

Form outside you can not say any of these exams are tough or easy. Both are tough and both are easy at the point of view of the candidate. If a candidate get well prepared in the examination then it would be easy one to the candidate and if not then it will be very tough to the candidate.

I think cat is tougher than gate .In gate you have to be technically strong but at the same time one knows that its not something new which you have to face.Competition in cat is more than for gate.

CAT and GATE both are two differant ways.

CAT is for Business management like MBA.

GATE is like technical course.

But in this two CAT is the most competitive than GATE without preparation the two are difficult.

It is very difficult to compare the CAT toughness and GATE toughness because in india these are the most toughest exam.Some one may feel CAT more tougher than GATE or some one may feel reverse.The difficulty depends on how much you read.If you are a management students you feel GATE as tough and If you are a engineering student you feel CAT is tougher.
As I am a engineering student I felt CAT is quite tougher than GATE

dont always answer diplomaticaly. comon ... if a person is having query regarding wich is better or wich is tough . then answer must be accordingly..not liek if u like this the go for it or watever

i am b.tech 2nd year student,but i want crack cat with 99 percentile.i am very weak in studies.please suggest me ..........
