CDS Examination is prestigious examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year . If you want to join CDS Examination then candidate should have a passed their graduate degree or will be appearing in the final year of degree may also eligible to apply .

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service examination and purpose of CDS examination is conducted for recruitment of Military Academy , Naval Academy , Air force Academy , Officer Training Academy (SSC-Men) , Office Training Academy (SSC-Women) .

CDS 2012 last date for submitting application forms was already completed and CDS II examination will be held on 16/09/12 . CDS Examination is conducted twice in a year as namely CDS I and CDS II . The eligibility criteria is differ from service to service that means each defence services under cds examination .

The "Combined Defence Services" Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE, the entrance exam for which is conducted two times as CDS-I and CDS-II by UPSC for an entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy.

The general age limit for candidate applying for CDS should be within 19 to 25 years with no upper age relaxation for any reserved category candidate. For entry in to different wings of CDS there is prescribed age limit:-

Age relaxation of any kind is not applicable in Combined Defence Service
Examination.

The age criteria remians the same even if you are currently an employee of
Indian Air Force.

The age criteria is
19-24 years for Indian Military Academy
19-23 years for Air Force Academy
19-22 years for Naval Academy
19-25 years for Officers Training Academy

The notification for CDSE I 2013 has been published already and the last
date to apply for the exam is, 10th Dec 2012.
If you are eligible then you should apply for the exam as early as possible
before the cutoff date.

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) is an organization which conducts all the A Grade or Class I officer entry level Entrance Exams. Some of them would be NDA, IAS, SCRA, CDS, IPS, etc..
