If you are from B-TECH in EE background then you are applicable for IES exam.IES exam not required any kind of percentage marks in through out career.But your course must be recognized .

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

There is no provision for percentage of marks criteria to apply for IES only completion of B.Tech. with other criteria required to apply for IES.

IES - INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE conducted by UPSC once every year for appointment in the top technical post in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication Dept. under Central Govt.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree in Engineering or pass from a recognised university within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for the SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years.

The selection is through written exam based on the subject from Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunication stream followed by personal interview.

I.E.S Indian Engineering Service and the examination was conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year.

Minimum Qualification :- Engineering degree from a recognized University.

Following branches are required to apply for this examination.

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering

Or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.

Age should between 21 years and 30 years as on august 1st of the years of examination.Upper age relaxation is given to the various reserved categories.
Five years :- SC/ST category.
Three years :- OBC category.
Five years :- Ex-Servicemen.
Ten years :- PD category.

Note :- Candidates who are appearing in the final year of engineering degree can also apply for this examination.
