Re: Is diploma students eligible to apply for NDA?
NDA stands for National Defence Academy. It is a joint academy of the Indian Armed Forces namely Army, Navy and Air Force. Candidates who are interested to join in any of these armed forces need to appear in NDA examination which is conducted by UPSC twice a year.
Eligibility criteria that you need to fulfill to appear in NDA examination is stated below :- ::> You must be an Indian National ::> You should have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a Government recognised board. ::> Age Limit :- 16.5 to 19.5 years as on 1st January/ July of the year of examination. ::> You should be an Unmarried Male candidate and must be Physically as well as Mentally should be healthy. As per the information you have mentioned in your query, you have passed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, so, being a Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering, you are not eligible to apply for NDA examination. |

Re: Is diploma students eligible to apply for NDA?
Union Public Services Commission has clearly mentioned that candidates who have done 10+2 from a recognized board are only eligible to apply for National Defence Academy/Naval Academy entrance examination.
Further, UPSC in its notification has mentioned that candidates seeking to join Air Force and Navy must have studied Physics and Mathematics at 12th level. It is clear from notification of UPSC that diploma candidates are not eligible for any wing of Defence through NDA examination. |
