the eligibility criteria for join merchant navy is person should have completed 12th standard with p.c.m stream.after 12th you can apply for deck cadet.you should also test a medical fitness test.the age of candidate also be less than 20 years age.you can also study the sea training marine engineering and research institute kolkata , ts chanakya institute.

for getting admission to these institute you have to appear in IIT-JEE exam.
so that you have at least 60% in class 12 exam for General and OBC candidate.......and 55% for SC, ST candidate.

for you there is 2 options
1. go for gp rating course.
2.do hotel management and then apply for crew couse.
i think gp rating is good.
eligibility criteria for gp rating is;
ELIGIBILITY:-PASS IN 10th Std with Total Average 40% marks.

(With Individual Pass in Mathematics, Science Subjects). (or)


PASS in 2 year I.T.I Course from Govt. approved institute with

don't go for money .
in merchant navy except money there is nothing.
if you logical think about this then you know that this is the worst carrier.
one more this this is the 10th most dangerous field in world.

merchant navy looks attractive but it's not..

you can work only for 6 month a year.
and rest of the 6 month you cannot do any thing.
b'coz organisation on land not appoint anyone for temporary bases.

before go for this carrier think 10000 times.

If you have pursued the B.Tech course from a recognised institute you are eligible to join for the Merchant Navy. But to join this field you need to first clear the entrance exam. There are many entrance exams like the IGNOU OPENMAT and also the IIT -JEE which are conducted for this purpose. On clearing the test you need to go through an interview round. Thereafter if selected you need to also undergo a physical fitness test. It is must to clear the physical fitness test as you should show any sign of being sea sick. Also it is a must to have a clear vision of 6/6. On clearing these rounds you will need to undergo a 1 year pre sea training from institutes like LBS, MERI etc. On clearing the pre sea training period you need to either join a Indian or Foreign shipping company. In terms of renumeration the foreign shipping companies offer better pay scale.
