the best colleges for merchant navy are in mumbai and kolkatta.. while mumbai provides a huge and better platform, kolkata has much wider knowledge to transfer. to just need to register ur self for the enterance exam. they are held twice in a year. usualy in the month of april and september. your merit does make a lot of difference to your profile. and also it's a better option to opt for goverment institutes instead of private ones. goverment institutes may guarantee you placements and provide a better platform.

**At T. S. Chanakya & MERI, Kolkatta, fees is Rs. 30,000/- per year including hostel fees, messing, tution fees. The course is of 3 years at T. S. Chanakya while of 4 years in MERI, Kolkotta.
