there are few criteria for the student who appear in IES, some are:
1. an engineering graduate from an AICTE approved university.
2. Age limit 21-30 years.
3. only four department student only apply for IES : CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING.

Dear Friend,
IES is one of the good and prestigious exam.
For IES your age must be within 21-30 years and
you will be eligible for it only after completing
your engineering degree or pursuing final year of your engineering.
The exam is conducted by upsc .

The age limit for appearing in Ies is 30 years. For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PD categories, the relaxed age limit is 35 years.

The criteria for IES exam is you have to complete your graduation in engineering.. and you must complete your btech in anyone of the following branch-

1.Electronics and communication

2.Electrical

3.Mechanical

4.Civil

there is a age criteria, your age should be in between 21-30years..
if you fulfill the criteria , then you can appear in IES..

hi friend,

I am mentioning all the two type of eligibility qualifications:
Educational: Candidate must have obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or has got equivalent degree.
Age: Candidate must be in the age band of 21 to 30 years from the year of exam.

Hi,

If you are talking about Engineering Services then you are not eligible. Only four branches:Electrical, Electronics, Civil and Mechanical are allowed.

You just need to have passed graduation and degree from a reputed University. You should be in between 21-30 years of age without relaxation.

Hi,

Yes you can go for the exam if the syllabus seems to be similar for Mechanical and Automobile engineering. As the paper will be totally based on mechanical engineering syllabus, so you have to be ready for the pattern.

You are eligible, but it will be difficult to clear the exam as it is mainly for four streams: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics.

Hi,

If you are familiar and can clear the Civil exam in the Engg Services exam, then you can apply for it otherwise leave it as it contains core syllabus of civil Engg.

No there in no such requirement. you just need to have a graduation degree and passed in 10th, 12th. But it is better if you graduate in any of the four: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics.

1.Age must be more than 21 years and less than 30 years
( SC, St government servant is 5 years, for obc is 3 years and for physically challenged is 10 years)
2.The applicant must be citizen of india.
3. he should have degree in engineering, final year students too can apply for it, the candidates have to be physically fit as per guidlines by upsc.

Age criteria for IES exam is between 21 -30 years its ok. But my question is how many time we can attempts for this exam within this age .
In IAS exam permissible attempt is only 4, is their any rule like this for IES exam & is their any minimum cut oof mark for this exam.

Well its good thing that you are working in ISRO and have working experience.The eligibility criteria is that you need to have degree certificate in B.E under the following category.
1.Mechanical engineering
2.Civil engineering
3.Electronics and telecommunication engineering
4.Electrical engineering.
You must attain the age between 21-30 years.The last date of submission of form is on 24.01.2011,therefore the submission date has expire and your age will not be eligible for writing next year.
