Re: GATE eligibility with backlogs and less than 60% in Engineering
Dear friend,
With your backlogs and percentage of below 60, you can appear for GATE exam but you are not eligible to take admission into respected colleges until you complete your backlogs. The final year pursuing students are also eligible to appear for GATE exam. GATE score will be valid for a period of 2 years. By the time you appear for counselling you have to complete all your backlogs. Then only you are eligible to get admission for Mtech. All the best |

Re: GATE eligibility with backlogs and less than 60% in Engineering
Hi,
The GATE exam is conducted for the admission to the post graduation program of the various IITs and IISC. You being an engineering student, the eligibility criteria is that you must have a bachelor's degree in engineering(4 years after 10+2) from a recognized institution. Also, students of final and pre-final may apply. There is no minimum condition for percentage, hence you need not worry about it. However you must make sure you have cleared all backlogs if any. Good Luck! |

Re: GATE eligibility with backlogs and less than 60% in Engineering
dear friend, Gate eligibility criteria does not depend on your marks. If you have any backlogs you will have to clear the backlogs when you will join the colleges for M.Tech. GATE eligibility criteria : =>YOu must complete your graduation . =>Final yar student can apply for GATE. =>No pre final year student are allowed for GATE |

Re: GATE eligibility with backlogs and less than 60% in Engineering
I have already completed B.Tech (in 2008) in Instrumentation with 80% marks. Now I am doing a job. But I want to sit in GATE Exam and want to do my M.Tech for a bright future. As I have completed B.Tech 3yrs ago so is it possible to sit in 2012 GATE Exam? Thank You.
