Indian Air Force has invited applications from unmarried male candidates for the job position of Airman. Eligible candidates from states of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland and Tripura can participate in the selection process. Minimum educational qualification of the candidate should be diploma/HSC. Selection of eligible candidates is done through Written Test, Physical Fitness Test, Interview, Trade Allocation Test and Medical Examination.

Eligibility Criteria for Airman Recruitment in Indian Air Force 2013

Unmarried male candidates having Indian citizenship are eligible to apply. They must have obtained intermediate or 10 + 2 qualification from any of the recognized boards. HSC must be completed with Physics, Mathematics and English as subjects and with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

Those having completed 3 year diploma course from any of the polytechnic institute recognized by government can also apply. Such candidates must have obtained the qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in any of the subjects mentioned below.

  • Computer Science
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Instrumentation Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering

Eligible candidate must be between the age group of 16 and 21 years. Other than this, they must satisfy specific medical and visual standards.

Selection Procedure for Airman in Indian Air Force 2013

Selection process is done for technical trades. Recruitment of suitable candidates is made through a step-wise process.

  • Written Test
  • Physical Fitness Test
  • Interview
  • Trade Allocation Test
  • Medical Examination

Written exam comprises of objective model questions from subjects like Physics, Mathematics and English. Candidates who qualify this one hour test will be selected for physical fitness test.

Physical fitness test includes a 1.6 km run. Time allotted for this running race is 8 minutes and those who can complete the same within 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded with supplementary marks.

Qualified candidates in physical fitness test can move to interview session. Communication skills are important to clear the session. After that there will be trade allocation test to test candidate’s competency in the specific trade.

Those candidates who qualify all the above mentioned levels can move to the final stage of medical examination. The process is done by the Air Force Medical Team to check whether the candidate is medically fit as per the Air Force medical standards. Successful qualification of this level will help one to get included in the selected list.

Eligible candidates should reach Jalan Outdoor Stadium (Near Don Bosco School) Boiragimoth, Dibrugarh (Assam) with supporting documents. Recruitment takes place from 2nd February 2013 to 5th February 2013.
