Candidates must have min 60 % in graduation in any field from any recognized university.Some popular fields are-
Engineering Physics maths Chemistry Biology Zoology Botany Agriculture sciences management Computer application Age limit-age must not exceed 28 years.if you were research associate then you will be given age relaxation according to UGC norms. |

NET is National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC (University Grants Commission).
NET is conducted for Lecturership and Junior Research Fellowship for Post Graduation pass students. Eligibility for NET: Post Graduation in any discipline with 55% marks are eligible to apply for NET. For SC/ST category 50 % marks in required . There is no age limit if you are applying for NET but if you wish to get JRF then you have to qualify NET before 28 years of age. If you qualify NET after 28 years of age then you will be only eligible for Lecturership but not for JRF. You have to give paper in your subjects and qualify it with good marks. NET or National Eligibility Test is conductd by UGC. NET is for candidates who want to pursue PHD programmes and teaching at Universities. The exam is conducted twice – In June and December. Eligibility for NET - Post graduation in any stream from a recognised university. There is no upper age limit to apply for NET. Number of attempts – Unlimited. Visit www.ugc.ac.in |

The eligibility criteria for NET exam are as follows: The candidate needs to pass Master’s Degree with at least 55% and above throughout the academics.
