Re: How can I be an IPS officer after 12th commerce?
You do not have to take any specific subjects. It does not matter whether you have taken Maths or not. The next step for Indian Police Service is to complete graduation.
You can pick any course related to your subjects for graduation. It could be Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration or any other course. Just keep in mind one thing. This course should be able to provide you job in case you fail to make the cut for Indian Police Service. It is always better to have a backup option ready. Once you have completed graduation you will become eligible for the Indian Police Service. You will have to apply for the Civil Services Examination. You can apply for it during the final year of degree course as well. But it is not recommended since you will have hard time focusing on your studies and at the same time preparing for the Civil Services Examination. Therefore you should wait till completing the graduation course and then apply for the Indian Police Service. IPS Eligibility 1. To apply you must have Indian citizenship. 2. Bachelor's degree from a recognized college. 3. There is no criteria for marks. 4. Your age should be minimum of 21 years. 5. Upper age limit is 30 years for the exam. 6. Up to 3 years relaxation for OBC. 7. While 5 years for SC and ST. 8. There is 4 attempts for General candidate to crack it. 9. OBC gets 7 attempts. 10. But for SC and ST there is no limit. Physical Requirements 1. Height criteria is 165 cm for Male and 150 cm for Female. 2. There is 5 cm relaxation for ST. 3. Chest should be 84 cm for Male and 79 cm for Female with 5 cm expansion. Selection Procedure 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview |

Re: How can I be an IPS officer after 12th commerce?
Dear Friend,
Sorry to say but you cannot be an IPS Officer after the completion of 12th commerce. The Acronym "IPS" stands for Indian Police Services. In order to join the same you have to crack the Civil Services Exam. You also have chance to join the below mentioned services too through the Civil Services Exam : * Indian Administrative Services * Indian Economic Services * Indian Foreign Services The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Exam every year once. The Civil Services Exam is the most prestigious examination conducted by the UPSC and is also referred as the toughest exam conducted by the UPSC. The Selection Procedure of Civil Services Exam : 1) Civil Services Aptitude Test 2) MAINS Examination 3) Personal Interview The Requirements for the Civil Services Exam include the following : ** The candidate must hold a Bachelor`s Degree in any stream from any recognized college/university. ** There is no bar on percentage required in Graduation. ** You can also apply even if you are in final year of Graduation. ** You should not have any pending backlog. ** The Age Limit : ** Nationality : >> The Candidate must be an Indian. OR, >> A Subject of Nepal. >> A Subject of Bhutan. Since you have completed only 12th from commerce stream currently you cannot apply for the Civil Services Exam as you are ineligible for the Same. To be eligible it will be better to complete your graduation first. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

Re: How can I be an IPS officer after 12th commerce?
Dear There,
You are ineligible after 12th with commerce because the minimum educational qualification needed is Graduation in any stream. There is no IPS examination it is the UPSC who conducts Civil Service Examination through which IPS officers are recruited. Candidates who get success in Civil Service Examinations are posted as Class I officers in the following branches: * Indian Administrative Services (IAS) * Indian Police Service (IPS) * Indian Economic Services (IES) * Indian Foreign Services (IFS) The examination is conducted every year in following stages: i) CSAT (Prelims) ii) Mains iii) Interview The eligibility required for Civil Service Examinations are mentioned below : * Candidates with Bachelor’s in any stream from a recognized college / university. * Students in the final year of Graduation can also apply for the exam. * No certain percentage of marks required to be eligible for the exam. * The Age Limit for different category cndidates : General – 21 to 30 years OBC – 21 to 33 years SC/ST – 21 to 35 years * Citizenship - Indian As you seen the eligibility required so according to the eligibility guidelines Graduation is needed. That's it Thanks. |

Re: How can I be an IPS officer after 12th commerce?
You don't need to worry that you are not having Mathematics subject in your 10+2.
Mathematics is not at all a compulsory subject for the candidates at academic levels. The candidates from any background and any stream are eligible to become IPS officers but only thing that is required is they should have completed their Graduation. Required age criteria will be 21-30 years of age for the candidates of General category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category. The selection procedure would involve CSAT Exam Civil Services Main Exam Interview So the route map for you will be Opt for Graduation in Commerce related stream like BBA B.Com etc. And choose Commerce or Economics subject as the optional subject for Main Exam. Have good preparation for the Civil Services Exam and crack it. Wish you all the best. |
