wt iz the age limit fr joining merchant navy after b.tech in mechanical engineering ??

Merchant Navy plays a good role in the global trade being involved in plying of vessels carrying cargo and passengers all over the world. The designations are Marine Engineer and Navigating officer.

It has excellent pay and career opportunities for Engineers.

Candidates who have done bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering can join Merchant Navy as Engine cadets after undergoing pre-sea training.

The Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Mumbai offers one year training through direct admission.

Candidates who have done bachelor's degree in technology in Mechanical engineering or naval architecture are eligible for direct admission. You must have scored at 50% marks in bachelor's degree.

The age limit is 24 years. Course fee is Rs 1,75,000 which changes from time to time. Marine Engineering Training institute under Cochin Shipyard also offers one year trainning but there should be minimum 65% marks in above two mentioned disciplines.
