Indian Navy has its headquarter located at New Delhi. There are approximately 67 thousands personnel eomplyed in the Navy. There are total 170 ships and 250 aircraft in Indian Navy. Indian Navy is a part of Ministry of Defence and Indian Armed Forces. The president of India serves as the Commander-in-chief of the Navy. The naval aviation branch of Indian Navy is consist of 5 thousand members. Indian Navy is considered as the world’s fifth largest navy. The major objective of the navy is to secure the national maritime borders and also to enhance the international relations of India through joint excercises.
Job Profile:
Indian Navy invites final year engineering students for joining as Short Service Commissioned Officers In Technical/Executive Branches under University Entry Scheme Course Commencing-July 2012. Candidates will have to perform the duties of Technical Officer or an Executive Officer. Only eligible unmarried Male and Female candidates with Indian Nationality are eligible to apply.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have acquired age of atleast 19 years for applying. The maximum age limit set for the post is 24 years. All interested candidates should have born between 2 July 1988 to 1 July 1993 (both dates inclusive). Relaxation of few years in the upper age limit, amy be provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.
Physical Conditions: Candidates should be medically fit with the following physical standards:
Height and Weight: Minimum height is 157 cms for Men and 152 cms for Women with corelated weight.
Eye Sight: 6/24,6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses for Technical Branch and 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses.
Educational Qualification:
Applicant should be studying in a recognized university in Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial & Production or Metallurgy or Aeronautical or Control and Production. Candidates are also required to have attained a minimum of 60% marks till pre final year. This eucational qualification criteria is need to be followed strictly by the candidates. Less qualified candidates are not eligible for applying for the position of Short Service Commissioned Officers In Technical/Executive Branches in Indian Navy.

Pay Scale: A prescribed amount of salary will be given to the selected candidates.
Selection Process:
Only Shortlisted candidates will be called for the campus interview. A Naval Selection Team will conduct the screening for the candidates. Candidates, who will qualify in the campus interview, will then be called for SSB interview at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore between December 11 to April 12.
