Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Officer (in Medical Corps), Indian Army
Indian Army has its headquarter located at New Delhi. It is a part of Ministry of Defence and Indian Armed Force. There are total 1,100,000 active personnel working in Indian Army at present. Indian Army is a land based branch which actually came into existence in the year 1947. It is also considered as the second largest standing volunteer army of the world. General V. K. Singh is the Chief of the Army staff. The main aim or function of the army is to ensure the national security of the Republic of India. Maintaining peace and security within the borders of India is also a prime mission of Indian Army.
Job Profile:
Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens (both male and female) for grant of Short Service Commission in the Army Medical Corps. Onlty those candidates, who have completed their MBBS degree in first or second attempt and internship, are invited to apply. Applicants, who have passed MBBS examination in more than two chances are not eligible to apply. Selected candidates may have to work independently in the units allotted to them.
Eligibility:
Candidates must not have attained the maximum age limit set for the posts i.e. 45 years as on 31 December 2012, or else they will not be considered eligible for applying in Indian Army for the specified posts.
Physical and Medical Standard:
Candidates should be Medically and Physically fit. Those candidates, who will get qualified for interview test, will first have to be prodcued before a duly constituted Medical Board by DGAFMS for the examination of his/her medical fitness as per the prescribed Medical Standards.
Educational Qualification:
Interested candidates must possess medical qualification included in the First or Second schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of IMC Act 1956. Candidates must also have made permanent registration from any State Medical Council or MCI. Those candidates, who possess Post Graduate degree i.e. MD or MS or MCh or DM can also apply for the specified positions in Indian Amry.
No. of posts: Total 120 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Candidates will be provided the prescribed amount of salary i.e. Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000. Candidates may also be provided other facilities such as Dearness Allowances etc.
Application Fee:
Candidates are required to pay a non refundable application fee of Rs. 200 in the form of a Demand Draft. The demand draft should be drawn from any Nationalized Bank. The demand draft should be made in favour of the Director General Armed Forces medical Service payable at New Delhi. Candidates are also required to write their name and address on the reverse side of the demand draft.
How to apply: Applications must be made on a good quality plain A4 size paper. Application form should be duly filled in with complete and correct details only in the prescribed format. Attested copies of the required documents are also need to be sent in support of the application form. One self addressed envelope (without postage stamp) is also need to be sent alongwith application. All the enclosures should reach to the following address:
