dear friend you can apply only after graduation there is no any exam for IPS after 12th.that's first you should to do graduation from any discipline then you give UPSC because from UPSC exam you can acheived IPS post because higher rank go on this type of post.

[dear friend you can't do anything because IPS exam you can give after graduation because 12 th is not sufficient for IPS.and this exam is conduct by UPSC and if you got higher rank then you can surely go for this rank.

You need to first complete graduation to be eligible for test. Also there is a minimum age requirement of 21 years. You can however start preparing for the exam especially the General Knowledge section. Make it a point to read the newspaper daily. You can prepare for the optional subject by selecting one on the basis of the area of graduation.

You need to write civil service exam conducted by UPSC. The minimum qualification for this exam is Graduate in any stream you should be between 21-30 years of age Now choose a subject where you can excel, either arts or science for graduation. Then you can give the exam. Thank you. |

to be eligible to apply for IPS examination you should have minimum of graduation degree from any discipline from any recognized university.
so after 12th you have to take admission in graduation. but you may start preparation for IPS examination from the beginning of your graduation or from second year of graduation. you must have good general knowledge. you must be aware about the current affairs. you must be good enough in so many subject like economics, mathematics, history etc. so you should study this subject. you should be physically fit so that you can clear the medical test. if you really want to serve as IPS officer you must build yourself according to this. you should follow the other eligibility criterion and notification at the time of apply. the notification and all details are available on the website http://www.upsc.gov.in best wishes. |

This exam is conducted by UPSC and the minimum qualification is Degree in any stream,so you have to 1st complete the Graduation but you can prepare from now. For the success in exam you shold have a goodd knowledge of GK and current affairs. Not only that you should have also Vast knowledge of Indian Constituents ,5 th year planing and english (beac you hyave to write an essay on any topic) You should also maintain A good physical fitness and standard. After completing your 12th, You can not apply for IAS exams.
So, if you are interested to become a IAS Officer, then please complete your Graduation first, because Graduation is the minimum eligiblity for IAS. So, After 12th please, get admission in graduation course, after completing your graduation, you can apply for IAS exams. IAS comprises of three levels of examination - Preliminary- Objective choice Mains - Subjective type And Finally Interview. So after Clear all these stages, you will get a chance to become an IAS Officer. For Becoming an IPS Officer, You need to complete your 12 class First, And then you need to Go for any Degree Or if interested Engineering Graduation. Where you have complete it and Then apply for the same.
For becoming IPS officer you need to crack CSAT exam i.e Civil Service Aptitude Test conducted by UPSC every year. Eligibility Criteria for IPS Officer is as mentioned below:-
1) You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age (various relaxations are available for different categories). 2) You must possess a graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. 3) Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IAS and IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form. Special Physical Requirements for IPS:- 1) As mentioned earlier candidates appearing for the personality test on clearing the civil services mains exam have to meet certain physical requirements to be eligible for IPS. 2) Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc.) 3) Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. 4) Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women. 5) Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D 6) Presence of Squint is a disqualification |

to do after completing 12th in order to become an IPS Officer You can join Indian Police Services(IPS) by qualifying Civil Services examination which is conducted by UPSC every year. This year the notification for the exam will come on 19th February,2011 and the application will remain open till 21st March, 2011. The application procedure will be available in the notification. You can either apply online or you can get the application form post office and send in your application. I am sorry to say that,after 12th you are not eligible for the IPS exam.To join you should have minimum a graduation degree.
Eligibility Criteria:- Educational Qualifications : Graduates in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognized by the government are also eligible. For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India For other services, a candidate must be either : (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India. or Age Limits : (a) Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August of the year in which examination is being held. (b) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable: (i) upto a maximum of five years for a SC/ST candidate. (ii) upto a maximum of three years for OBC (iii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during a particular period Personal Attributes : The aspiring candidates are expected to have keen interest in the General Studies and are supposed to have a good amount of interest in current affairs. Regular and detailed reading of a good national newspaper, a standard competition magazine and a basic book on general knowledge is the essential pre-requisite.
